Birthday weekend in the Catskills

5 of 5
Three couples and three singles enjoyed this Catskills retreat in early August. The home is gorgeous, spotless and comfortably fit our large party with room to spare. The open spaces allowed for hanging out as one large group or several small groups. The kitchen was to die for and we enjoyed every meal on the premise. As an aside, the kitchen is large enough to allow for many chefs in the kitchen! We ventured off the property twice: once for a jog around the reservoir (~ 5min from the house) and also to Peekamoose swimming hole (~35 minutes). Both were beautiful. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend in the Catskills.

Perfect place to relax! Sweetest owner!

5 of 5
Perfect place for 5 people! If you ever imagined that living in a cozy house surrounded with beautiful nature, this is the perfect place. You can see the numerous stars at night, have fun with the fire pit, you can Run, Scream, Dance, Jump and Fly!! It was really relaxing but adventurous trip! The owner Barbara was more than amazing. She sent me 9pages of DOC file before we heading there, which contains all the details of the house, her property, neighbors and activities to do! It was really helpful. We did not need to plan anything. She was our tour guide! We went there to celebrate my fiancé's birthday and she sent us an amazing CAKE!!!!!! She rocks! (Thank you Bill who brought us the cake and help us to find the directions and taking care of our trash!) The house is well prepared. It has more than enough towels, sheets, blankets, dishes, pots... nice kitchen, outdoor grill, furnitures, TV, DVD, Books..... Ha! It was an amazing trip!

Modern & Very Relaxing

5 of 5
We had a great time staying at Olivehouse over Thanksgiving. The house is airy and modern -- there are lots of windows to look out into the woods, and the kitchen is really great, with lots of pots and pans and a really great stove/oven. The house is near a number of small towns, such as Woodstock and Stone Ridge, so you never feel too isolated -- but it's far enough away that you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The owners were really easy/accomodating to work with, and when we had a slight problem with the pipes (which turned out not to be a problem at all), they offered to send someone over on Thanksgiving day. We'd definitely stay here again.
