Comfortable, cozy cottage - a perfect vacation!

5 of 5
My husband and our 3 children really enjoyed our stay at your cozy cottage on the Great Sacandaga Lake! We spent lots of time canoeing and kayaking around the islands on the other side of Northhampton campsite. The evenings at the cabin were spent playing mini golf, watching the boats on the lake, and sitting by the fire roasting marshmallows. We are making it a tradition to come back every year because we enjoyed ourselves so much. The cabin was very clean and had a rustic charm that fit into the Adirondack setting. The kids thank you for providing games and puzzles that we all enjoyed. I was happy to have a washer and dryer so I did not need to go home and do laundry! My son caught his very first fish on the dock. Thanks for providing family memories that will last a lifetime.

Cozy Cottage Getaway

4 of 5
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Our group ranging in ages from 3 to 85 was challenging to accomodate but everyone was able to find their niche. Despite some rainy weather and very variable temperatures we were able to enjoy walking across the bridge into town and making s'mores over the fire pit. Big family dinners out on the porch were really enjoyable but dependent on how cold it was. The netflix was a big hit with the kids as was the comfortable family style seating in the living area. The adults enjoyed playing cards at the dining room table. There was an issue with scalding hot water when we first arrived, but the owners took care of it right away. I would caution others that the stairs are quite steep and a little precarious for the elderly and the neighborhood can be a bit noisy at night...especially on holiday week-ends.

Unique, Delightful, Distinctive

5 of 5
Unique. Distinctive. Delightful. When we crossed the threshold of the Station and entered the spacious layout, we were delighted to discover refined, country elegance. The craftsmanship and care that went into restoring this historic landmark was evident in every nook and cranny of this home away from home. The cozy furnishings consisted of timeless pieces with Adirondack accents that ranged from antique to handmade to modern, giving you a sense of being transported back and forth through time. To further emphasize the passage of time, the owner-designed blueprints and historic collages decorating the walls literally told the history of the building, the people and the place from its heydey to its present day restoration. Be sure to peruse Wilhem and Margreet’s self published books to gain a deeper knowledge and appreciation of their creative process and the history of the Station and Sacandaga Park. The location of the Station was more than ideal, lending itself to a full range of local attractions and best kept secrets. (check out the side table in the "Waiting Room"). We were able to take advantage of the surrounding rivers, lakes, beaches, quaint towns, farmer’s markets, ranches, and race track all within an hour and a half of the Station, not to mention the beach, boat dock, pub and golf course within walking distance. Next time, we will be sure to hit the waterfalls and trails nearby. Our stay at the Station was enjoyable, comfortable, restorative and intriguing. It was also accessible and affordable. We highly recommend the Station for a unique, distinctive, and delightful vacation!
