We stayed in this property for a total of nine days. Brian and his wife were excellent hosts throughout. They were quite helpful in providing any missing items we needed. We also seemed to be the first short-term tenants and they were still putting finishing touches on a few things (e.g. lock on the bathroom door), but did so promptly after we arrived.
The house itself has its charm as a 200+ year old property. The second floor is quite simple (Brian - a paint job to add some cheerful color might be a good idea) but it suited our needs. Do be aware that the way the layout is set up, to get to the second bedroom you either need to walk through the first bedroom, or go through the bathroom (which has two doors). I did not hear any complaints from our group about the beds or other amenities. The yard was beautiful and it was nice to just relax on the lawn. We had five noisy kids running around for a few days and our hosts were quite accommodating and friendly toward them.
In my opinion our hosts were a highlight of our stay, since they were so helpful. Toward the end of our stay we ended up hosting a few other people for an event on the property, and Brian was not only OK with it but very helpful in making sure the event was a success. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable the entire stay. Another highlight was the location - off the beaten path slightly so quieter and greener, but still just two minutes from the Niagara Falls Blvd strip and only a few minutes drive from the Falls. There are a few places to eat within walking distance, as well as a TIm Hortons, Subway, pizza joint (good pizza) and farmer's market store with basic groceries.
In short, I have no hesitation in recommending this stay to others.
