beautiful

I stayed at the cottage on my most recent trip to Niagara Falls. I was pleased with accomodations which were clean, spacious and well equipped. I would recommend this property to any one visiting this area. the river view was wonderful. Our host Glenn made us feel welcome and at home.

Completely blown away!

5 of 5
I have to start out by thanking the manager and her family for letting us stay at there rental and for being so awesome. Secondly I want to tell every other future guest about how amazing this place was. For what we paid for this place we didn't expect to get as much included as we did. We were provided soaps, shampoo & conditioner, bath salts, and my wife even gotten dissolving bath rose petals that we have never seen before. Our children were happy to find toaster pastries and cereal provided for them and my mother in law used the pancake mix that was provided to make waffles. It was cold outside and sometimes old houses are a bit drafty and cold but not this one. The place was very warm and comfortable. We enjoyed our complimentary wine and sat in the living room catching up on things. My daughter and my niece were fascinated with the many dolls that are display in many parts of the house and they were a bit disappointed that they couldn't play with them but they got over it. LOL. I guess the doll collection belongs to the lady of the house (Alicia) and they add a nice touch to the decor. Each room has a different theme and is so well decorated and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed, paper towels, dish soap, linens, spices, etc. There was even a little kids table in the dining room for the kids to sit at during meals. We got to meet Alicia's son Jack and the children in our family played with him a bit and Alicia even brought down some of his toys that they put away when guests arrive. You rarely meet a host or hostess that is as warm and inviting as she was. She stayed at least an hour and told us about the house and previous owners, answered all of our questions ( as we had many) and showed us a guest information book that had EVERYTHING in it. When I say everything, I mean everything. Directions to bars, gas stations, liquor stores, restaurants, coffee shops, churches, emergency contact info, hospitals, grocery stores, shopping, even the most recommended places to eat and shop. You name it, it was in there. That is what I'm talking about when I say, we got waaay more than we expected with this place. The amount of time and hard work it takes to make a book like that, how clean everything was, we jokingly asked Alicia if she had OCD. Not to mention the gifts and breakfast, you won't find that anywhere. We will definitely be back, no question. You have to check this place out we had a wonderful time and you will too!

Home away from home

5 of 5
We came to Lewiston because our parents wanted to see Niagara Falls. We decided to celebrate their 60 years of marriage and our fathers 79 birthday. When we arrived we found our "Home Away from Home". There were 4 of us and two dogs and plenty of space for all of us. It was fully furnished and charmingly decorated. Sandy thought of everything from shampoo to laundry detergent; from salt to coffee filters. Sandy even had pastries and water upon our arrival...Just like a mom would. Lewiston was located at the heart of everything we planned for our vacation. The day after we arrived, our Father suffered a stroke and had to be hospitalized. Sandy was a God send. I called Sandy and told her what had happened and she provided information for the nearest hospital, She gave us information on where to get his handicap sticker. She stayed in constant contact with us checking on his condition. We would have been lost without her help and knowledge of the area, which was invaluable. We will always be indebted to her. She has continued to stay in touch checking on his condition. When our father left the hospital we returned to Sandy's for a few days so Dad could rest. It was a perfect retreat...it was so peaceful. We would walk him down to the lake. He would sit on the bench and watch the sailboats. Sandy referred us to several destinations in the area that did not disappoint us. From restaurants, entertainment and even to fishing charters, Sandy left no stone unturned. She literally thought of everything to make our stay memorable. Even with the situation with our father, we will never forget this trip, and we were still able to take our parents to Niagara. We have mentioned her home as a perfect getaway for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful memory...which is what a vacation is all about. We plan to return and when we do, we will definitely check to see the availability of her place. We know if we don't, it will be booked. We loved being only a few steps from beautiful Lake Ontario. We walked several of it's banks. We could also see Toronto on the horizon. What else could you ask for in a vacation. Sandy was the perfect host during our stay in upstate New York.
