Our New York Family Vacation

5 of 5
Wow what a vacation! When I found this rental as I was searching for a place to stay in NY I was impressed with the reviews. Therefore I called the host Jacqueline to inquire about staying. After talking with her I knew we had found the perfect place. Jacqueline greeted us upon our arrival with her knowledge of things to do and places to eat and a beautiful fruit platter. The subway was a block and a half away. She was always a phone call away with any need that we might have and that was very reassuring for my family and myself being our first time to NYC. I would advise all who are planning a trip to NYC to stay at this clean, spacious and safe place in Brooklyn. We want to thank Jacqueline and her family for all they did for us, we now have new family and will definitely be returning in the future.

Spacious and perfect for easy access to Manhattan

5 of 5
This apartment was comfortable and exactly what we needed to enjoy a week in the NY City area. The Temperpedic queen beds were great, the landlords were extremely helpful and responsive, from the moment I first emailed to ask questions to when they met us at 1am after our flight arrived at JFK, and they refunded our damage deposit within a couple of days after we checked out. The neighborhood is a good one, in Astoria (near Long Island City) just three subways stops from midtown Manhattan on the Steinway line. We could get to Manhattan in about 15 minutes, depending on where we were going, although it took closer to 40 minutes to get to the 9/11 Museum area. The subway entrance is only about a block away and you have no trouble unless it is getting close to midnight--then you better figure which trains run that late and where to get them or take a taxi. I liked that there are shops and restaurants nearby and you feel safe, even quite late at night. The balcony was a nice touch for getting air and watching the sun set (it's off one of the two bedrooms). One thing we misunderstood is that there are several ways to connect to internet, through their wifi modem and also through satellite. Read their binder carefully and realize you have more than one way to get service. Overall I can't say enough about how comfortable we were (two couples traveling together). We could have accommodated more people using the sofa and they also have an aero bed. I should also mention that the air conditioners worked well on the hot days; we didn't need them when the weather got cooler. I highly recommend this unit.

Very nice stay in the Upper East 80's.

It's a good value in as much as it is quiet (for Manhattan), clean and close to everything that we wanted to be close to. It's an easy walk to the Museum Mile and there are a number of nice restaurants and shops within a few blocks in any given direction. The best feature was the owner, Eva, because she was accommodating of our few but important requests.
