Recent New York City Reviews

November 2014

Carole was suh a great host. We only saw her when we checked in and out, but she gave us her number in case we needed anything or any suggestions. She had snacks and pop and water and enough keys for ever home staying. Also, she left directions for buses and subways each direction. The apartment was so cute, cozy and quiet. The neighborhood is great and it's about 10 minute drive to the subway and you can get in and out of the city very easily.

Staying in NY for the Marathon

4 of 5
I ran the New York Marathon and wanted to stay in close proximity to Central Park for easy access to the apartment after the run. It was a little further then I had anticipated because the run finishes at the south end of the park but we were close enough to the subway for quick access to transportation. When we arrived, we called Michael to let him know we were at LaGuardia and would be there as soon as possible. When we arrived the doorman greeted us and knew that we were to meet Mike upstairs. He handed us the key to the apartment and we went upstairs. Mike met us there a couple minutes later. The apartment was nicely lit and he told us what we needed to know and left. We appreciated that he told us if we needed anything he was only floors up away from us and to feel free to contact him if we needed anything. The Master Bedroom is very spacious and although the main bathroom is attached to the Master Bedroom, it was extremely handy to have the half bath. It was only myself, my husband and his sister, but having the extra bathroom made all the difference in the world. As it worked out, we didn't need to ask Mike anything and were able to navigate ourselves around the city without issue. The one thing that was odd is when we would tell the cab drivers our location they were extremely puzzled as to our location...after the marathon when I could barely walk, we got in a cab, told the driver our exact location and he proceeded to tell us it was an impossible address....then when we told him the side street address he knew where to drop us off....at any rate, we didn't want to get in an argument with him as it was nearly impossible to find a cab after the marathon. The apartment is as noted and we really enjoyed it. I would say just as a means of constructive criticism is that it would be nice to have some basic amenities like salt, pepper, sugar and even coffee in the apartment. There are local markets nearby but we arrived late so it would be nice to have had those things as we didn't want to have to buy salt, pepper and sugar when you can hardly buy those in small quantities. The other thing that was missing was face cloths, there were plenty of towels but no face cloths...otherwise, the place was as we expected....Thank you Michael and Jennifer.....Vernon, BC Canada

NYC in the fall

5 of 5
The apartment location is absolutely magnificent. Close to all of the activities and to the subway. The apartment was clean and pretty typical of New York dwellings. Since it was back from the street, the city noise was pretty much muffled except for the occasional siren or helicopter. The walls are a bit thin such as the neighbor noises can be heard, but again it's New York. We didn't spend too much time in the apartment, instead we were out and about. We did buy groceries at the Emporium Supermarket on 45th, so the kitchen did have what we needed for breakfast and mid-day snacks. The only recommendation is the wifi is a bit slow, but good enough for us to stay connected. All-in-all, I would definitely stay at this place again.
