Perfect location and great ammenities

5 of 5
A group of climbers, we were looking for something near the Gunks and comfortable for a mini vacation. The house was just what we were looking for, less then 10 minute drive to the Trapps, 15 from New Paltz, the location was ideal, as well as scenic. The property gives the feeling of space, and the kitchen and dining room and living room, nevermind the 4 bathrooms, made it perfect for our group. We also really enjoyed the fire pit. Finally, Wes was really easy to work with and made the whole process a breeze. Would definitely stay here again!

Great for family get away

5 of 5
Our family - five adults and a 10 month old - stayed in this lovely home over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and perfect for our needs. We used every part of the house from the beautiful front porch, to the enclosed rear porch, the kitchen, etc. Morning and evening meals on the back porch, listening to the water in the near by stream, were so peaceful. Because the back porch is fully enclosed, it was easy to play with the baby in that area without worry about stairs. The kitchen was well equipped for basic needs. The bedrooms were all large and the beds very comfortable. With easily opened windows, a nice cross breeze came in at night and, one of my favorite parts of the morning was waking to bird song. The arrangements for the rental were easy to make and the property manager, Bruce, was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions sent by email. There is a lot to do in the Hudson Valley and a notebook of ideas in the house helps prompt even more ideas. One note of caution when you are anywhere in the Hudson Valley - we have stayed in several rental houses in the Hudson Valley and always bring a repellent for ticks and take the recommended precautions when hiking, etc. Also, poison ivy grows along most untrimmed walking areas so it helps to know how to identify it and avoid it. For that reason, we walk only in mowed areas, wherever we stay or visit.

Peaceful Country Home Away from Home!

4 of 5
We stayed at the property when our son graduated from West Point. It was a 45 minute trip to the Academy, but not difficult to negotiate and we so looked forward to this tranquil setting as a welcome change from the hectic schedule of Grad Week. This IS an 1820 farmhouse, so go there with that expectation. The owners lived right next door but they were not intrusive; rather, we found them to be extremely accommodating to our needs and enjoyed talking to them about the history of the house and surrounding area. They were also helpful with information about restaurants and local grocery shopping. It was too cool during our stay to enjoy the pool, but it looked very inviting and was a nice area to sit and enjoy the sun. The bedrooms comfortably slept 7 people and an air mattress was provided for another person. All-in-all, a very enjoyable stay!
