From the first contact with Ralph, the owner, everything went smooth. Prompt replies to our emails. When we got closer to the rental start date, he provided us with all the directions by email, informations about Montauk and surroundings. In the house, you also have a few cheat-sheets in the house to help you use the different appliances. I agree with the comments below, the pictures don't give the house justice. It is so much more beautiful. Very clean. The kitchen is top-notch, all Kitchen-aid equipped. We used the fireplace because it was Christmas time but the house gets warm very quick with the central-heater anyway. We were welcome with a little personalized note on the counter and a little gift. Very much appreciated. The house has 4 rooms which I agree with previous comment are not very big but if you live in Manhattan, you'll probably find them huge for your standards. And anyway, you want to spend time in the kitchen cooking, or in the living room chilling with friends on the large couch. The kitchen table is very big and can easily welcome 8 people. I could not enough recommend this house even though I hope it won't be a victime of its success and see its rates hiked. Finally I would say that the house has obviously been fully renovated. And every thing has been done in a very good taste with no intention to hold back on what's the best: coffee table from Restauration hardware, heated floor in bathroom with stone-tiles, silent diswasher and induction cooktop from Kitchen-Aid, huge Samsung flatscreen and Samsung soundbar to play your music with Bluetooth are among some of its features. One drawback: Southampton is 40 minutes away. But East Hampton only 15-20 minutes, beautiful beaches a few minutes away and two IGA (grocery store) 5 minutes drive away. Just want to go back as soon as possible to relax again.
