The property was absolutely fabulous!

5 of 5
Four of us stayed in this property for a week and absolutely loved it! We were greeted on arrival (11 pm) and given a brief orientation by the housekeeper as the owners were out of town. The location was perfect with a wine bar next door and French pastry/coffee shop across the street in addition to at least two fine restaurants within a 1/2 block. The views from the penthouse were spectacular and will forever be imprinted in our minds! The layout was excellent and the owners allowed us to accommodate two of our nieces as well for a 2-3 day stay with us, providing an inflatable mattress and plenty of linens. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner was always available and very helpful, wanting to make sure that we were happy with everything during our stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay near the Theater district. While there we toured Central Park by horse drawn carriage, visited the Empire State Building (of which the penthouse has an awesome view), Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial, Highline park, 3 Broadway shows and Carnegie Hall for our nieces performance. Restaurants included Crispins for Italian food (adjacent to the penthouse), Ardesia wine bar (next door), Bergamonte (French pastry/coffee-across the street), Uncle Nick's (Excellent Greek food! 83 year old Greek mother-in-law especially loved this one-it's on 9th and 50th), Sardi's, Stardust Diner, and Carnegie Deli. We plan on returning!!

Felt like home

5 of 5
The apartment was just perfect. Great location within walking distance to many places you want to visit in NYC. Good access to subway and busses. Safe neighbourhood, friendly and helpful doormen. Easy accessible laundry facilities in the building. The apartment is very clean and nicely decorated. It has everything you need, from well-equipped kitchen to towels, linens and a nice coffee maker. The bed is very comfortable, good mattress. Free wifi, flat screen. Very nice contact to owner. Thank you. This was my second stay in the building (same owners, different apartments). I immediately felt at home in both of them and would recommend them to anyone.

The Perfect NYC Experience

5 of 5
Arrival: Our wedding party arrived early Friday morning, while Rick and his lovely wife, Julie, were still putting the finishing touches on the apartment. They graciously allowed us to check-in early, so we left our bags and followed Rick's directions to a nearby diner. Apartment: Upon returning, the apartment was immaculate. It has clearly been renovated quite recently, and tastefully furnished with Pottery Barn furniture along with some unique flourishes from the eye of a discerning decorator (I believe the credit here goes to Julie). The apartment is spacious by any city's standards, but especially so for New York. Our party of 8 (3 couples and 2 singles) were easily accommodated across the 3 bedrooms, with the single folks on foldout couches and chairs. 8 people is a lot for any apartment to handle, but the size and layout (and the patio) helped us to avoid stepping all over each other. Upscale bedding, full kitchen supplies, fluffy towels -- it has everything. Even the toilet paper was the good stuff! Neighborhood: If you know NYC, you know there isn't a better area in terms of transportation options and touristy stuff to see/do. You're just a couple blocks from the theaters, museums, Central Park, the Apple cube -- and the Columbus Circle station will get you anywhere in the city. Overall: Though this was my first stay with HomeAway, I've traveled extensively with other homeshare/vacation rentals over the years, and this was one of the top experiences I've had. Beautiful apartment, charming hosts, and an all-around zero-stress transaction -- and I believe the rest of my group would agree. Rick and Julie: we'll see you again for the Bar Mitzvah in August!
