Loved this house, it met all of our needs

5 of 5
My wife and I rented the house because our son was getting married at a mountain top home a few miles away. The four large bedrooms gave us plenty of room for my mother, my son and daughter-in-law and grandson. The master bedroom was huge. The beds were very comfortable. The property was spacious and very private. We loved every minute we were there!

Reconnect with the Family and Laugh Til it Hurts!

5 of 5
My husband and I took my nephew and niece, 15 and 16 respectively, to this well appointed and lovely lake house for a week. Upon our arrival, we were horrified to discover there was no cell service and no internet access. Help! What would we do to amuse these two teens who are constantly bickering with each other? The answer: leave them alone! It took only 30 minutes for them to adjust and it was a joy to watch my nephew push his sister on the swing out back. My niece fashioned a bow an arrow by finding sticks in the woods out back and a piece of string. They even made a badminton set out of nearby materials. SHOCKING. From there, we decided to walk across the street to the crystal clear lake and do some swimming and fishing. Good luck was had in the fishing arena but not so much for "Uncle Glenn". He lost an oar in the middle of the lake and had to resort to a canoe type maneuver to get back to shore. This provided many laughs, even for Uncle Glenn. Nearby, hiking trails lead to a magnificent waterfall. One evening, we took a 30 minute ride to a go cart race track where the kids had fun knocking each other around. And the best discovery was the local ice cream stand with a line 25 deep but no one seemed to care. I can only imagine it was because 3 scoops of rich creamy ice cream cost about $2.50! I cannot emphasize our shock when we realized that teens can carry on conversations, cook for themselves, clean the dishes and giggle until their bellies hurt when they are not glued to their cell phones and tv. It's been a year but we are all still talking about our wonderful week at the tranquil lake house retreat on Crystal Lake. Don't hesitate to visit this serene property. Elizabeth and Brian ensured we had all the information needed to make this vacation spectacular.

A splendid place for a family vacation!

5 of 5
This is a well- loved and well taken care of home. We had lots of room (11 family members) because of a first floor open floor plan; we also had great kitchen space, comfortable beds, 2 cozy cabins, cool mountain breezes, a spectacular lake view from front porch with plenty of seating, and a magnificent lakefront patio/dock for sunbathing while others were fishing, swimming, or kayaking within view in the beautiful lake. There is plenty of grass for kids to run and play and the back deck, equipped with a large gas grill, is great for outside dining. While the peaceful mountain top environment is conducive to serenity and relaxing, rides to Cooperstown, Howe Caverns, the Saratoga Casino, and local fossil hunting made this a place with something for everyone in our family. Friendly neighbor Roger shared the “fishing hotspots” and the caretaker, Rob, was readily available when called to fill up the gas for the grill and take away trash. The owners love their home and were a delight to work with. A great place to make family memories; nobody wanted to leave. We will definitely return! MaryJane P. Oradell, NJ
