GREAT VACATION WITH FRIENDS...

5 of 5
Thanks again to the owner for contributing to making our vacation a great one. We were a group of eight adults with two small children and the house was perfect for our needs. There is plenty of space (indoors and outdoors) and each of the bedrooms features balconies with water views so everyone was treated to the spectacular images of the gorgeous LI Sound and sunsets/sunrises. The owner was eager to make sure that we were comfortable in his home and that we had everything we needed. He offered many suggestions of things we might do in the area and told us to call him day or night. He even purchased multiple new pairs of water shoes so that we could all enjoy spending time at the beach. The beach is just down the flight of stairs at the end of the property and it is rocky so the shoes came in handy. The rocks did not spoil it for us - the water was clear and pleasant - we all enjoyed a swim. We made a fire one evening and enjoyed the quiet water. The views are unbelievable and it is hard to believe that we were only two hours from the city - we really felt like we were "away" even though we were only a short distance from the city. The kitchen is lovely to cook in - making dinner while watching the water was very enjoyable and relaxing for someone who enjoys preparing food for all to enjoy. The oven is a wonderful German brand that made some beautiful food - if you need help figuring out which settings to use, ask the owner to guide you to the convection oven setting. We grilled outside most nights and enjoyed the gorgeous sunset from the deck overlooking the spacious lawn and Long Island Sound. This house is meant to be enjoyed from the outside - the location could not be better. Unobstructed views of the sound from one side of the property to the other make this an ideal location for a group looking to be outside and enjoy all the the North Fork of Long Island has to offer. We rode our bikes into the "downtown" of Orient. The main street is actually quite charming and is worth checking out. There is not more than a post office, general store and pie shop there, but the street is special in that the residents really have taken pride in their homes and keep their properties very lovely with beautiful gardens and quaint decorations. It is a sleepy street, but I found it quite lovely. Overall we had a very nice experience renting and we could come back again. The North Fork is a great place to vacation with much to offer.

EE

I have been vacationing at Davis Park for 18 years and the last 7 years have been at this house. By far this is the best house I have rented over there. Having a pool at the house is a BIG bonus. It gets used quite often. You get to experience a lot of sunsets and relax on the upper or lower decks of the house or just take a short walk to the ocean with your chair and towel for a relaxing day. This house has a lot to offer to enjoy your stay. You can take a short walk to the store, watch the ferries come in or hang out at the beach. Anthony goes out of his way to assure that the renters are happy and he is a great landlord.

TERRIFIC HOUSE!!

5 of 5
The house is very nice and perfect for a long weekend getaway or for even longer if you have the time. Susan and Mark are wonderful and so easy to work with... not all homeowners are this nice and easy going. It was very refreshing as some homeowners can be a bit hard to deal with. Not so here. The house is in a private community, it has a huge backyard with lots of grass and it's fenced in. The dogs loved this as they ran around the entire time chasing their toys. Living in NYC, you can imagine how much they loved this. The house itself is very tastefully decorated, has a great chef's kitchen with every utensil under the sun, as well as a charcoal grill in the backyard... and a large deck to boot. It's a short walk to a private beach on the LI Sound. There are bikes in the garage if you want to ride them to the beach or around the neighborhood. The beach is great and there was hardly anyone there... in late JUNE!!! This is rare. There are also tennis courts and golf nearby. We didn't get to play this time as we were having too much fun doing other things... but will do so if we can manage to visit here in the future. We have been visiting NoFo for years and this is definitely one of, if not the, nicest places we've stayed. The fact that Susan and Mark are great makes booking here a no brainer.
