Fantastic cabin, location and Host!

5 of 5
I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and 3 month old baby. We could not fault Highland cottage. We were there during the winter and the cabin was extremely cozy and warm. The cabin was extremely homely and the location was very close to town. The Ski shuttle stop at a nearly hotel to whiteface mountain was less than 5 minutes walk away. Cathy was a great host who ensured our stay was enjoyable and was always within easy reach via phone but she was never intrusive during our stay so it was a very private lodge even though her home was next door. Everything was clean, warm, dry and the kitchen was very well stocked. Thank you for your hospitality Cathy! And the cookies too!

Perfect for us

5 of 5
This cozy house was a perfect place for my (4-person) family. It is quite small, but had everything we needed for our stay. It is clean and well-equipped. The view is unbelievable--a church and the high peaks. It is right in the village of Keene, walking distance to some good restaurants and cafes. (Don't miss the ADK Cafe, a terrific new restaurant.) The house is perfectly located for hikers, nestled among the peaks, but also pretty close to Lake Placid. The owner is very friendly and responsive and the caretakers live up the hill from the house. I strongly recommend it for groups up to four people, and for larger groups that don't mind a serious squeeze.
