Our first time at Cedarview Too - loved everything about it! We were a little worried about renting a house where the owner lived next door, but shouldn't have been concerned. John's house is probably 50 yards away down a wooded path, can't even see it from the cabin. And even if it had been closer, John did the perfect job of not being intrusive while letting us know he was there if we needed anything (we didn't!). The cottage is absolutely old-school charming - it's not for you if high-end luxury is what you're looking for, but if you want to stay in a quaint, quiet, clean cottage that feels like it's been in the family for generations, this is your kind of place. We cooked all of our dinners at the cottage and the kitchen was perfect. Our kids loved the second floor loft bedroom. We took full advantage of the motorboat that we rented from John, as well as the canoe, rowboat, and paddleboat. Had several campfires in the firepit in the backyard, and loved that the house came with a grill. The star of the show is the boathouse deck - it is huge, and the entrance to the deck has a gate, so it would be perfect for corralling little kids. We spent hours on the deck, with our morning coffee, playing cards with the kids, reading, and just hanging out enjoying the spectacular view. There is a neighbor's house in close proximity to the cottage, but when the neighbors were there part of the week, we barely noticed them. Everything we needed except our food was supplied - linens, towels, laundry detergent & dish soap, paper products, even shampoo & soap. There are lots of board games for the kids. There is a TV with satellite, but we never turned it on. Also left the bedroom clock unplugged all week, which I would highly recommend! A great experience thanks to a fantastic location, a lovely cottage, and the friendliness and hospitality John and his wife. Can't wait to return!
