Our family has stayed in many homes in the adirondack area but this was our first time to Lake Luzerne. This home sits on an *almost* completely private "pond". I say almost private because there are two other homes, but we didn't see another sole on the lake all week! Also this is very much a lake and not a pond! There is plenty of room to swim, kayak, paddle boat, canoe, fish without feeling like you are on a pond! And it is a short and easy walk to Lake Luzerne. We enjoyed the sandy beach at Lake Luzerne everyday with our girls! The house itself is very nice! It is dated, but very clean and comes with everything you need to relax. I was a bit nervous about the one bathroom because of the amount of people we had in our group, but it was never a problem (and that's with a three year old who always needs to go ;) We enjoyed every meal on the patio overlooking the water and a campfire everynight. We kayaked 2-3 times a day, floated in the "pond" and walked to the beach 1-2 times a day. The town of Lake Luzerne is very cute with a few nice trails, great ice cream and mini marts. My husband and dad hiked a nearby mountain one afternoon and we all drove into Lake George (short drive) for mini golf one evening. This house truly has something for everyone and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the peacefulness of the adirondacks!
