Perfectly wonderful vacation and cottage.

5 of 5
My husband, 8-year old son, dog and I spent a terrific week at Lake George and were lucky enough to rent Charlene (the cottage) on Halcyon property. he setting is beautiful and the location is terrific. Our son and dog had a fun time exploring the grounds. My husband, a nature photographer, was able to photograph some wildlife (primarily birds), beautiful plants and a lovely sunrise. We were close to town and yet far from crowds. Lake George is pristine and access to the lake is just steps from the cottage. Swimming was convenient, easy and refreshing. On Thursday night, we were able to enjoy a perfect view of the weekly fireworks from the dock on the property. The cottage is as advertised and provides all you need for simple living with an added benefit of a strong wifi connection. The family lives in the main house on the same property and are very gracious hosts. More than once they checked to be sure that we had everything that we needed and were enjoying ourselves. They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful while respecting our privacy. This was a great vacation with lots to do (rain or shine) in and around Lake George.

Great quaint yet modern cabin!

4 of 5
Once we pulled up the kids were in awe! We stayed in mid-July. We stayed in Cabin 2. It was my husband, sister, and her 3 kids- 13,11, and 8. The kids had a ball. We made big bon fires nightly and the pool was great. Overall, very clean and accomodating. We brought our 2 small dogs as well. Next time we will definitely book 2 cabins, but the one we stayed in fit us just right. We slept in the room with the queen size bed. My sister and her son slept in the room with the 2 twin beds, and the little ones slept on the big futon in the living room. When we arrived there were brochures and travel guides awating us, along with a nice letter from the grounds keeper/ property manager. There was free wifi and cable and all worked well. We were 5 minutes from town and provisions, and 20 minutes away from Lake Geroge Vilage, where we spent 2 of the 4 afternoons. At night we BBQed and roasted marshmallows. Definitely will stay again! The only negative was that the rooms had a strong musky smell. Also, when we arrived our bbq wasnt working well. But once brought to the property manager's attention he went out and bought us a new one the next day!

Perfect Little Find

5 of 5
This home is perfect for a family vacation. Close proximity to all that Lake George has to offer!!!! Our family was able to walk to all the shops, restaurants, and lakefront. Perfect location!! Park your car and never worry about paying for parking--- The cottage was clean and well maintained when we arrived in Lake George. It was obvious that Terry has done subtle upgrades to the property---new kitchen and downstairs bathroom. The cottage keeps with the integrity of Lake George--keeping the lake/cottage feel. Terry came and checked up on us on day two--made us aware she was always available and that she was local. She left us some free steamboat cruise passes---a very nice touch!!! My one request, and it is super minor since it made me walk 100 yards to the local coffee shop in the mornings--no wi-fi. Not a big deal really since the goal is to unwind at the lake-- This was my first time to Lake George--the Village is awesome--local music, art show, cool and eclectic shops, and really friendly people. We went horseback riding, whitewater rafting, boat cruising, and chilled at the lake. At night--sat on out patio, popped a bottle of wine and listened to the local music scene---we had our kids so we didn't hit the late night scene although it was there. If you are deciding on travel to Lake George--you need to reach out to Terry--this place is a hidden jewel!!! Thanks Terry--we had a great vacation!!!! Vince and Shelloy Ranhorn Norfolk Va
