Best family vacation we've taken

5 of 5
These pictures don't do enough to describe the look and feel of this place. When you walk in you feel like you are in a serene mountain Lodge. We had 11 people and 2 golden retrievers and still had plenty of room.there is a great little winery down the road. My 17 yr. old son spent the week fishing, but he didn't catch Champ. Lol We are already planning for next year. What a great place. New York has it all in spades.

Wonderful and Relaxing Family Vacation

5 of 5
We had three generations staying at the house and there was something to do for everyone. The best part for us was the beach. It's beautiful, close to the house, and extremely kid-friendly. It's sandy and shallow so when we had all five children, under age six, playing in the water it was enjoyable. Plus parents could have a napping child inside and another playing in the sand, and easily keep and eye or ear on both. There was a kayak, canoe, rowboat, and paddleboat which we got a lot of use out of. The nice part about the location was an adventurous paddlers could go out in the lake or up a river, and a young (or less adventurous) paddlers could explore along the shore and never be in water over their head. There are plenty things to do in the area within an hour drive - hiking, Lake Placic, Santa's Village, Whiteface Mt, etc. While at the same time, the beach area was so nice, especially with the rafts, that you can don't have to leave the house to have a fun day. The house was beautiful and clean, with more accommodations then we were expecting, making the stay easy and relaxing. Checking in was very quick and easy. We got a quick tour and run down of the house and then were left to enjoy our stay. We did call the owner with a minor problem that was resolved quickly little disturbance to us. Other than that, we weren't bothered and we left to enjoy our vacation. Everyone is our party was extremely pleased with the house, beach, and location. I would highly recommend this house, especially to parties with children.

Outstanding in all respects will stay again.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the overall condition of the property. They thought of everything from kitchen utensils to beach towels. The beach was perfect and included numerous chairs in which to relax and take in the view. I would also like to add that properties with a sandy beach and this type of view are few and far between. The proximity to Plattsburgh is a plus not to mention the proximity of numerous attractions for all ages. In the evening it was peaceful, no noisy neighbors. if you're looking for an affordable place for a family reunion or a family getaway look no further. We had a great time and will be returning next year.
