Great Stay in the Adirondacks at Studio C

5 of 5
Our stay at Studio C for four nights was one of the best we have had at a vacation rental. We have stayed at many vacation rentals and B&B's around the Northeast and Studio C is now at the top of our list. The 9 acre sculpture garden is fantastic and provides a very peaceful and quite setting for the rental. The rental is very spacious with great kitchen, comfortable bed, and wonderful wood stove - perfect for our fall getaway. The region around Wells and Speculator (just north a few miles) provides many choices for hiking and kayaking and other Adirondack towns (North Creek, Saratoga, and Lake George) are a reasonable drive from Studio C to find additional outdoor activities, dinner, lunch, and shopping options. The owners (John and Caroline) were wonderful, responsive, accommodating, and took time to give us a tour of the sculpture garden and studios. We will definitely be back to Studio C.

Adirondack Getaway in Charming Rustic Cabin

4 of 5
My husband, two children and I vacationed for a week in this lovely cabin in the southern Adirondacks during the peak fall foilage season of 2009. This cabin is a wonderful getaway for small families and/or friends. Rustic, but not too rustic with propane fueled lanterns, hot water and even a refrigeration system. We were surprise attacked by cooler temperatures than expected, but the wood-burner kept things snug and warm for our nightly round of family charades, puzzles and general relaxation. The owners are very unobtrusive and give you carte blanche on the property while you are there with guest books outlining good leads on excursions and secret spots you might not otherwise hear about. Our number one recommendation is the Adirondack Museum, which is described as the Smithsonian of the Adirondack's and does not disappoint. Thank you for a great family getaway in a clean, quiet and lovely environment. The only reason I didn't rate this "excellent, five stars" was because the weather was quite bad the entire time, which obviously has nothing to do with the cabin and it's comforts and cannot be helped.
