Peace and quiet beautifully decorated

5 of 5
We three arrived - me, my best friend who was in the US visiting from Scotland and my Cairn terrier - on Friday afternoon. The key to the front door was exactly where Kate said it would be. We were instantly warmed by the charm of the house. The separate and private entrance opened to a hallway and staircase up to the second floor. My dog, KC, immediately got to sniffing out previous occupants and told me where to set up his crate. The apartment is spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. There was charm at every turn from the old fashioned toilet and cast iron tub to the wide planked wood floors. Every seat in every room seemed to envelope us in comfort. There was plenty of light coming in through all the windows during the day. The bedrooms were separated allowing for maximum privacy. The eat in kitchen was gorgeous, nice and big and was a great place for us to make and enjoy our dinner. Every amenity and cooking tool was provided. We had the best hostess on the East coast in Kate, friendly and very helpful. The beds were so comfortable, we almost overslept on Saturday. The area was quiet, despite neighbors being across the road. We ate out at a local Italian restaurant and then came back to sit on the porch and just enjoy the mountain air. We were upstate to go to the NYS Sheep & Wool festival. The apartment was only a 20 minute drive to the fairgrounds. Very convenient. On Saturday, after a day of sheep auctions, contests, yarn, alpacas and roving, apple crisp and catching up with dear friends, we took KC to the dog run and played ball with him until sunset. Peace and quiet was required for the weekend and that's exactly what was delivered. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to escape the big city and all the noise. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Kate, for your friendliness and hospitality. KC thanks you too.

Perfect!

Everything was amazing! I came for a wedding and wish I had stayed an extra day just to fully enjoy everything. Mark is a wonderful host and his store down below is lovely. If I every get the opportunity to visit again, staying here is my first choice. It's better than any hotel in the area, the location is perfect, and the home is stunning. Stay here. Do it!

Convenience, coziness, cleanliness - it's all here

5 of 5
If you're looking for a place to stay just outside of NYC that's safe, spacious, clean, convenient and peaceful, then this studio in Hastings-on-Hudson is for you! I rent every summer in NY for business reasons without getting to see the place first - so I'm always a little concerned about what I'll be getting. No need to be worried about this place. It's in a beautiful, woodsy area, has a fantastic private, peaceful deck, ample closet/storage space, and all the amenities you could want. Plus it's only a 35-minute train ride to NYC - which goes right along the scenic Hudson River most of the way. Bonus: the landlords are extremely nice, respectful of your privacy, and genuinely concerned about your well-being while staying in their studio apt. I felt completely safe and at ease my entire stay, and loved the area in general - lots of charming shops, good restaurants, an awesome farmer's market (I think from May to Oct.) and beautiful views of the Hudson. I highly recommend this studio apt!
