Amazing rental! Amazing time!

5 of 5
If you're in need of a private getaway location for a big group or family, look no further. I recently rented this incredible house for a long weekend (Aug 7-10) with a group of old college friends and only wish we had more time to enjoy the beautiful home and property. The house is conveniently located just outside the quaint college town of New Paltz which has everything we needed for our trip. Despite being just a short drive from town we felt like we were miles away from anyone else given the secluded location. We had so much to do right on the Estate that we didn't even need to leave in order to find entertainment. We did consider golf and hiking which were within minutes, but ended up staying put and enjoying the beauty of this place. The scenery is simply gorgeous. Upon entry to the estate each one of us said "Wow!" as we caught our first glimpse. The house and landscape looked like they were tailored specifically for the property. That’s because they were. One of the best parts of my trip was having the pleasure of meeting the lovely owner, Isabella, a lifelong architect who designed and built not only the house and yard, but the beautiful private pond that the house overlooks. Iris, the owner’s daughter and property manager, was a true joy to work with throughout the rental process. She happily answered all of my questions regarding the home, property, and surrounding area. From the start I could tell just how much she and her mother love the home and upon arrival it was immediately evident why. We could not have picked a better location for our trip. I enthusiastically recommend this rental and only hope I have the chance to make it back some day.

Great rental!

Traveling with elderly parents (oxygen, wheelchair scooter) to the Hudson River area was a joy while staying at this apartment. It was obviously very meticulously renovated. The apartment is as described- quite large, very clean, very tastefully decorated. We were able to explore the area. We travelled as far south as Peekskill (all the mansions and West Point) and travelled over the bridge to Hudson and to Olana (home of Frederick Church). The highlight was a visit to OPUS 40- a outdoor sculpture park near Saugurties. We took a Hudson River cruise from Kingston and walked across the Hudson near Poughkeepsie. Athens has some wonderful old architecture that is being restored. All in all a wonderful retreat. The food and beer at CrossRoad Brewery was fantastic but our night dining at the StewartHouse was supreme- we felt we were in a Frederick Church painting- it was so beautiful. What a wonderful memory to share with my parents.

Lovely home!

We stayed at Villa Sophia for a 'girls getaway'. The home is as beautiful as the pictures portray. It has a fabulous kitchen with all the essentials to prepare meals and enjoy at the oversized table in the lovely dining room. We spent a lot of time at the house. The rooms are clean, comfortable and big. We highly recommend Villa Sophia.
