Private slice of heaven at the Red Door Cabin!!!

4 of 5
If you are looking to slow down and reconnect with your loved ones, this is the place. While the cabin is on the small side, our family of four never felt on top of each other. The cabin is delightfully furnished with new furniture and very comfortable beds (even the futon). We were greeted by Sharon(caretaker/manager) who acclimated us to the camp, nearby restaurants and answered every question we had, Sharon was so nice and helpful that we forged a new friendship! The owners left us a lovely welcome gift, all the fixings needed to make S'mores, YUM!!! The cabin was super clean and secluded, a short stroll brought you to the edge of the lake, where we would launch the canoes and Kayaks we rented from the owners for a small fee. We would spend hours on the lake, exploring the surrounding area and swimming, the water was crystal clear. At night we would build a fire and make S'mores, we recommend you bring lots of bug spray, as long as you spray yourself, the mosquitoes are tolerable. We ate at the Soda Fountain, Symeons and Adirondack Diner, all were very good. We had so much fun on the lake in our boats, we never left the compound except to eat! All in all, we have ranked this vacation as our best yet, which surprised us all. We really had a hard time leaving but we will be back!! The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because a sleeper sofa would have been better than the very nice couch in the sitting area and also some of the windows didn't open.

Wonderful vacation

4 of 5
Our experience at Cross-Rip cottage was very pleasant. The cottage was exactly as described and very clean. The view from the cottage, and the deck is lovely and we had our morning breakfasts in serenity, and our evening tea/coffee with some lovely sunsets. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing, though the fish didn't bite! The boys enjoyed roasting marshmallows every night at the fire-pit outside. The sandy beach is small and not on the property itself, but is a common one, just a few feet away. Tricia and Molly provided excellent customer service. They provided the linens and towels (at extra charge) and came on the morning of the 4th of July, when we called them suspecting a leak in the washroom, which turned out to be just the toilet tank sweating. All in all it was a very pleasant vacation and I would definitely recommend it to any group looking for peace and quiet times on the lake. Thanks, Molly and Tricia, for providing such a good experience.

Wonderful Time!

My husband and I took a last minute weekend get away and were lucky enough to spend it at this cabin. It was clean, cozy and charming. The interior was like a home away from home and the exterior was like a dream land - the forest and flowers are beautiful and the outdoor shower is amazing. This was the perfect little getaway for us!
