Wonderful !

5 of 5
First of all: Tom, the owner, was super kind and thoughtfull . Answered very quickly any question I did. He even offered to call a car for my return to the airport. Also very respectful concerning when the maid could go to the appartment and clean it. About the location: the area is very nice and safe even at night. There are several subway lines (4 and 5 blocks from the appartment in each direction) including an express train which took me to lower Manhattan in 15 minutes! Also there are several small groceries really close and a mini market which will be enough for your daily meals. Besides, on Amsterdam and also on Broadway Aves. you have lots of little restaurants (my favourite was "The Grange" ). The appartment: the pictures you see are trully what you'll meet, except that it is bigger than what it looks! Super confortable full bed; beautiful bathroom; very cozy even with below cero temperatures; very clean (maid goes every Friday and changes towels as well as bed linen + cleans and organizes everything); you have dishes+silverware+cups+etc of very good quality; coffee+tea+sugar there for your arrival. Take in mind this is a basement studio, so no windows and you have stairs till you get to the appartment itself, but nothing to be worried about. Finally I'd like to say how pleased I am to have rented this appartment, it was a big bonus for my wonderfull holidays in NYC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Gem of a Place!!!!

5 of 5
Stayed 3 nights in this wonderful studio in Harlem. Studio was warm, inviting, clean and Yvette was so friendly and helpful. I don't think you will find a better place for your $! Check out Lido (great Italian restaurant), Lolo's Seafood Shack, Serengeti Tea around the corner - try the Love Chai -really enjoyed discovering Harlem. To get to downtown for a show or exploring times square - 2 blocks to metro station with an express train - only 10 minutes

Harlem Hideaway Was Uberfab!

5 of 5
We loved our time in Harlem and staying at the Harlem Hideaway helped make that so. Dennis was an ever gracious host suggesting many local eateries and attractions, which we enjoyed. We highly recommend that folks visit the Studio Museum of Harlem, which we found more interesting than MOMA. We relished all the exhibits, but especially Kianja Strobert - Of This Day In Time. Go see it if you can. (http://www.studiomuseum.org/exhibition/kianja-strobert-day-in-time) And it was so close to everything! Including a subway stop that made it easy to jump downtown or to get to Penn Station. The room was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. The bed, pillows and linens were extremely comfortable. Dennis has a great flair for design, which is enviable. We were able to stash our luggage after check-out time, which was deeply appreciated as well as the use of huge umbrellas during the monsoon rain on the last day of our stay. We are already telling our friends about the place and can't wait to go back!
