BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

5 of 5
We were called to the area for a dear friend's funeral and needed a house for family and friends from out of town. We called Mike and asked about availability. He was immediately thoughtfully concerned and offered the house when we needed it. The house more than fit the bill for us. With the open floor plan we were able to enjoy cooking in the large kitchen, eating at the huge (and custom made) dining table, or visiting in the living room. The home was cozy and comfortable. It even has a distinctive fresh wood smell (it IS a log home). Seeing the stars out the large front windows, watching wildlife or meditating on "the point" were all highlights of our stay. The house was well appointed, Mike's customer service was impeccable, and the location is breathtaking. Wish we could have been there under better circumstances, but the house did its part to give us a welcoming home when we needed it. It held our laughs and our tears. Would love to return someday, Thanks Mike.

GREAT CABIN BY THE SEAWAY

5 of 5
We had a terrific week. The cabin was so quiet and comfortable, with everything in perfectly working order. I loved sitting in the living room chaise with gorgeous views out the Oak Point's inlet and the seaway. No TV, no AC put us close to nature, quiet, weather, breezes, and helped us withdraw from everything that stresses us at home. A perfect week. The Caneens are friendly, generous hosts. I would definitely recommend this property.

A GREAT SUMMER RETREAT FOR US.

5 of 5
We spent the months of July and August in Pike Cottage at Oak Point Lodges. We were attempting to escape the heat of our out of state year round home and enjoy the River. We had a great view of the little bay and the river traffic. There was nearly always a breeze from the bay. The screened in porch provided a great place to watch the river activities protected from the insects. And it was very relaxing. The sandy beach and easy access to our boat at the dock made the river experience nearly perfect. Our cottage was newly built and designed to take advantage of the breezes and was very convenient. The kitchen was well stocked with microwave, dishwasher, and lots of pots and pans. It was very clean and well maintained. The community at Oak Point was friendly and we made lots of friends in the area. The owners Lisa and Stephen went out of their way to address any needs that we had. We needed to have the internet working reliably and they worked with us immediately upon our arrival to make sure that it worked for us. It bears emphasis that the Lisa and Stephen were there, locally, and went out of their way to make the cottage work for us. The proximity to the town dock was also a plus for us. We could hear the happy sounds of children playing in the water and that is a great summer sound. The cottage was convenient for our family visitors and our granddaughter found ready playmates for her two weeks there. As seasonal renters we enjoyed meeting lots of different people who rented from the other cottages at the Lodges. Lisa made sure that we were aware of the local events and we could participate as much or as little as we wanted. It was nice to be part of a community with such a sense of history. It was everything we wanted it to be. There are lots of activities nearby so if you wanted more to do than use the river for boating, fishing and swimming, you could go golfing, horse back riding, visit the castles nearby on the islands, and attend lots of arts and craft events. All in all it was a wonderful place to spend the summer and we would stay there again. We would encourage vacationers who are looking for a month or a whole summer to give The Lodges a good close look. We highly recommend it.
