Lovely rustic cabin in a quiet location

5 of 5
This is a lovely cabin for a couple or family looking for a quiet location/peaceful stay. The cabin, while small and rustic, really has everything you need to cook meals and enjoy a vacation at the lake. We particularly enjoyed the porch; the small table is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or play a game while overlooking the lake. This property shares a fire circle, grill, canoe/kayak and dock with another house (if you are looking to be directly on the lake you might check out the Demilog's sibling Overbank which is really lovely); we found sharing the amenities quite easy as each house was often on a different schedule and this property seems to attract laid-back renters. While it's a decent trip (30 min) from the Lake George village (a plus in my opinion!) there are nearby stores, delis, hiking and Fort Ticonderoga very close by. Owners Glenn and Lee are very responsive - it was easy to make the reservations and they provided great recommendations for hiking and food nearby. On our first morning a septic tank repair man arrived as there are evidently alarms set for Glenn if anything is amiss with the system. it turned out to be a minor issue, but how nice to know how closely they are making sure that all is well! For someone looking for a quiet retreat and place to 'unplug' I'd highly recommend this cabin!

Lovely cabin in the woods

4 of 5
We had a very nice stay at Janice's property. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped (everything you would need for cooking is available in the kitchen; large TV and DVD player for rainy days or quiet nights). It rained the two days that we were there, so we did not make it to the beach; however, there were plenty of attractions a short drive away. We visited Fort Ticonderoga one day and walked around town in Bolton Landing the other day. We had a minor issue on our first night, and received a call back from Janice's husband a minute or two later, with a quick and easy solution: excellent customer service. We would certainly recommend the property to friends.

Memorial Day 2014 - had a great time

5 of 5
We just got back from our 3 day stay at this beautiful log house. The house was clean, very well decorated and stocked with everything you may need for your family vacation. It accomodated two families of 4 with plenty of spare space. The huge lot size and access to woods made it a fun adventure for kids and adults. The house is set far back from the main road, connected through a long driveway, making it very safe for kids (6, 8 adnd 10) to play with minimal supervision. We enjoyed the firepit everynight, and the huge pile of firewood helped!! We were a little apprehensive about not having internet or cell phone connections, but we really enjoyed the opportunity to wind-down without giving-in to compulsive habits. We did not mind 20-40 minutes drive for most activities as it was well compensated by the size and comfort of the house. We didnt get to meet the owners, but the house has a certain warmth that speaks very well of them. Frank was very resposive and helpful over emails and phone. We will certainly consider staying here again!
