As Homeaway 'regulars', we know how important it is to find that perfect place when on vacation. Katrina and Rich have it all! Our variables were pretty specific and it's not an easy combination to always find for a reasonable price. Not too mention, it can be very time consuming and feel overwhelming. We travel often to the Adirondack region and run into the same issue. Many of the homes need updating. The decor is very open, beachy, and airy. No ridiculous knick knacks, old plaid couches, or funny smells here etc... Modern, up to speed and did I mention she has the best smelling candles ever? Details. Detalils. Details. None were overlooked and it's obvious. Floor to ceiling sliding doors face the lake that expose one of the most beautiful lawns I've ever seen! They nailed it. You have access to a firepit (on the beach!), kayaks, a great dock to sit with your coffee and fish, washer/dryer, plenty of parking, a terrific deck with a brand new grill and patio furniture, and most importantly are pet friendly. For you boaters, there is a launch less than a mile from the property. The popular party spot Sand Island is opposite their private beach! Just a few minutes by boat or fifteen minutes by kayak. Does it get any better? From start to finish, Katrina was reliable and always available. Our trip was very last minute (arrived within 12-18 hours of booking) and they made it all happen on a moments notice. They would even send friendly texts from time to time, checking in on us, making sure we had everything we needed. A few great local bars (all on the Great Sacandaga) within a 10-15 minute drive. Locals are friendly and nonpretentious. A warm and inviting community. If you go to Lanzi's Lakeside, be sure to ask for the host (owner) Lou. Actually, he will probably end up saying hello to you first! Seriously, stop your search now. We did the leg work for you! Typically not the type to write a review (as a matter of fact, this is our first one!) but the place is seriously just that good. Nicole & Trish Brooklyn, NY

Couldn't have asked for more

Everything about this stay was really perfect. The location and property were absolutely beautiful, everything was spotless, and the amenities like dishes, Wi-Fi, and satellite television were most welcome. The owner was very responsive and great about corresponding in a timely manner. Bottom-line, I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will for sure be back if I'm ever in the area. Thank you!

Small details - Big

tayed the week of 8/23 - 8/30/14. It was me (a dad), my twin 16 year old girls and one of their 16 year old friends. The property itself, although not isolated, certainly felt like it was. In fact, unless you drive down the quiet street or traverse out on the lake in the provided kayak and actually see the other properties, you'd swear you were alone! The interior of the home is tastefully done with rustic flair and comfort. There's a great view from the modern kitchen out to the lake, which includes a large counter with stools. This counter also 'separates' the kitchen from the dining area (it's all open). The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, baking dishes, etc., as well as, a popcorn maker, dual waffle iron (which was great), a Keurig (complete with a carousel of pods). A TV hangs nicely off the wall at the end of the counter for those who can't miss a show or who prefer to listen to music from the satellite receiver. Just a few steps away from the kitchen on the deck is a gas grill which we used quite frequently during our stay; a reserve propane tank was provided along with plenty of BBQ utensils. The deck also has a great tented cabana to enjoy the quiet scenery without bug annoyances (which really weren't bad at all during our stay). The two bedrooms were comfy; one has a 1/2 bath, not very large, but serves its purpose. Each has its own TV. The other bathroom on the main floor is large with a full shower/tub and washer & dryer, which was extremely convenient (even a nice selection of laundry soap, dryer towels, etc. were available for use in the cabinets above the machines, as well as, bars of soap and shampoo - left either by Meghan and Arthur or previous guests; we did to our part by buying and leaving behind some non-perishables for folks coming after us as it seemed to be the right thing to do). The F/R is well situated with a large sectional to view the wall-hung TV (complete with satellite, netflix, amazon) and a dvd player with a nice selection of movies). A kayak is left for use, which we used multiple times each day/evening. There's a large section of property lakeside that we used to play frisbee and baseball. A fire-pit sits at the edge of the water which was used each night. It was a fabulous week at a great property! Meghan and Arthur thought of all the small details and are terrific hosts! You'll love their place! We highly recommend it and would definitely stay again! 5 stars!
