            Absolutely Perfect!

            5 of 5
We vacationed at Stonehaven with another family, 10 of us in total. We absolutely loved this gorgeous home. The views of the lake are stunning and there are plenty of places from which to enjoy them. We had our morning coffee on the deck, enjoyed cookouts on the terrace, and in the evening we enjoyed cocktails on the dock. There is a little beach area which is perfect for sitting and reading or watching the kids as they swim off the dock or swim platform. When we weren't boating or swimming, we enjoyed the lawn with games of badminton and KanJam. I've vacationed at Lake George before but I think this kind of yard and lake frontage is pretty rare. The rooms were nice, plenty of updated bathrooms. The house was large enough for everyone to hang out together, or spend time apart. So our one rainy day was not a problem at all, even with 6 kids in the house. While we didn't spend a lot of time indoors, we did spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I LOVED this kitchen. Huge fridge, no worries storing enough food for 10+ and a large pantry, which was convenient as we brought most of our food. There is a Walmart about 10-15 minutes away with a full grocery section, otherwise you will travel a bit for a different grocery store. The cooktop is huge and makes it easy to put out a big meal for 2 families. We went to Adirondack Extreme in Bolton's landing, which is about an hour away, but so worth the trip. The kids loved navigating the obstacle courses among the treetops. We put the boat in at the southern part of the lake, Pilot Knob. There is a public boat ramp closer to the house, but since we brought 4 cars, it would have been a little tight storing the trailer in the driveway. While we enjoyed this house completely, it may not be the best choice for the very elderly or infirm as there are a LOT of steps from the driveway to the house and from the house to the water. Once again, not a problem for us, but if stairs are a problem you may want to think twice. Finally, Jon was great to deal with. We had only one minor problem with Wi-Fi and he was quick to respond. BTW, Mac users want to be sure to empty your cache before logging in and should probably use firefox. I will end this review by mentioning how we ended most of our days at Stonehaven...with the outdoor fireplace. Smores and a fire were just the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this house and hope to return to Stonehaven soon!
