A TRUE 5 STAR STAY!

5 of 5
We just loved the Carriage House. It was clean and comfortable and Robert and his family were genuinely gracious hosts. They were so generous! Everything we needed (and more) was there for us to enjoy. The accommodation was luxurious but affordable, a really winning combination in our books. And it was convenient to the Finger Lakes area, so we were able to enjoy day trips. We loved learning about the history of the area, and were especially impressed with Sonnenberg Mansion & Gardens and Seward House, as well as Syracuse's own Erie Canal Museum. The guides were excellent, and the locals friendly. It wasn't far to Watkin's Glen State Park, which really is a spectacular site. (Lots of walking, so bring water and wear comfy shoes.) There are also some lovely vineyards in the Finger Lakes, and Climbing Bines brewery, which was lots of fun. Again, really friendly people, gorgeous scenery and a cool vibe. It was such a treat to return to our cozy Carriage House at the end of each eventful day, open a bottle of New York State wine, prepare a delicious meal and then sit outside in the courtyard and relax. And the scones in the morning: we never tasted scones like them. Perfect! Affordable luxury and great hosts. What more could you want?

CHEERFUL AND COMFORTABLE

5 of 5
This is a very comfortable and cheerful apartment- the interior is clean, bright, feels recently renovated, and has a well-stocked kitchen (the exterior is still being renovated but the inside is great). There are extensive grounds with trails that were great for walking our dog. The owners are very friendly and pointed us to some nice gorge hikes. We spent two nights here while our son was visiting Ithaca College. The apartment is about 10 miles west of Ithaca but a straight shot in. We would definitely stay again!

AMAZING PLACE

5 of 5
We had a wonderful week at Botanical Hill! Accommodations and property were as good as described. The owner was pleasantly responsive to all of our needs and requests. We enjoyed the nearby wineries and the quiet town of Seneca Falls. The sprawling, well-maintained lawns were especially welcome for our active preschool grandchildren, including a small sandbox, tree house, swing set and wonderful grass for walking barefoot! (We saw few insects, especially mosquitoes!) The decks had great views where we enjoyed the families of deer who came and grazed morning and night. Milfoil growing in the lake can interfere with swimming, but the waterfront is wonderful for kayaking, canoeing and relaxing.
