Great holiday vacation

5 of 5
We had a great stay at Losee Cottage. It was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 kids wanting to spend some relaxing time over Christmas and New Years. Meg, the host, was extremely helpful and provided lots of information and tips in advance of our stay. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures show. Very nicely decorated and furnished with tons of natural light. The house is in a great location, we made day trips to Rhinebeck and Woodstock which is only a 40min drive away. We would definitely stay in this house again

Beautiful lake house experience!!

5 of 5
My husband and I spent a long labor day weekend here and it was absolutely beautiful. The area is beautifully rural, with great hiking and scenic views, and yet an easy drive from NYC, under two hours. The house is very small but it was ideal for two people. The futon in the living room was pretty cozy so I think it could handle four people as well. The house looks recently renovated and although the shower did not have great water pressure, it was really not a problem. We spent most of our time at the house on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet, and had fantastic BBQ dinners. I would note that although there is a Wal-Mart about 15 minutes away, I would recommend bringing food with you because the area is really remote and there we did not see any other food stores (except for a farm stand where we got delicious local corn). We did not see much in the way of restaurants in the immediate vicinity but we really didn't look as we were so happy to have a grill! The lake is a short four minute walk away, with a little private beach which did not seem much used, and the lake is perfect for peaceful floating and swimming, as there are no motorized boats on it. We only saw a couple of row boats and some paddle boarding, but not near our beach. The landlords were extremely friendly and helpful, and I have no doubt that we will return to this property. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful place.

Great house in the country!!

5 of 5
We really enjoyed staying at this home. My kids loved all the toys, the play ground and the pool! The house was clean, modern and very comfortable! We hope to come back again maybe in the winter but hopefully again next summer!
