We rented the house for July 2014 and had a wonderful vacation. The house is located fairly close to East Hampton and very centrally between the bay and the ocean beaches. You can easily access Montauk, Amagansett, East Hampton, Sag Harbor etc.
The house was great. The pool and deck area are even nicer and bigger than the pictures depict, we spent a lot of time in the pool and eating or playing cards out on the deck. There is a BBQ grill that we used a lot, loved the outdoor layout. The house is a great size with large living room area, big kitchen and open dining room. There were 2 booster seats for kids and a fully stocked kitchen. We stayed in the upstairs master bedroom and kept our son next door to us in the kids bedroom upstairs. We then had our guests stay in one of the two other bedrooms downstairs (queen master room and double bed) and this layout was nice for privacy but definitely big enough to accommodate our visitors. The driveway fits at least 3 cars and there is also ample street parking along this quiet street.
The house is amazing for kids. There was a wagon in the garage that our son loved and played with almost everyday, making us pull him around the quiet neighborhood. They had pool toys and floats, etc everything you needed.
Main Beach is about 10 minutes away, you can buy day parking passes to go there ($25 per day) or there is 15 minute parking to just take a nice quick walk in the morning or parking is free in Lot 2 after 4pm. We tried to go to the beach everyday since it is obviously something we cant do at home in NYC! East Hampton the town has nice shops, a Starbucks, and a playground that we used frequently.
The owner was very responsive and helped us with a few issues that came up during our stay. She also has an amazing handyman who picked up garbage and recycling all the time, keeping the place clean and clutter-free which was much appreciated.
We would definitely recommend this property and might be looking into booking it again for next summer!!
