Grateful traveler

5 of 5
We rented this property to bring our family together for the Thanksgiving holiday. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to be. The photos while stunning cannot portray how amazing this house truly is. It had everything we could possibly need or want and John (the owner) could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to deal with. The house was impeccably clean and decorated in a true Victorian manner. Each of the bedrooms had a distinctive decorating style. I kept walking through the house saying, "I can't believe that I am actually staying in a house like this!" The huge gas fireplace in the main sitting room was a cozy gathering space for our family to sit and talk or to play games. The pool table was a huge hit with all of us. The housekeeper was pleasant and very welcoming to us when we arrived. I would recommend this property to anyone. We had fun shopping in the nearby Lake George outlets and also a cute restaurant/gift shop called the Silo. Although we didn't rent this property for a wedding, the grounds are absolutely beautiful (even in late November) and cannot imagine how stunning it would be in the spring and summer months. We hope that we can come back sometime in the summer to enjoy the outdoor gardens, sitting areas and the pool. I also wanted to mention that we had a toddler with us and she had a ball toddling through the house from room to room visiting with everyone. Highly recommend! Outstanding property.

Wonderful off-season getaway

5 of 5
Went up with girlfriends for a few days at the end of March and had a truly relaxing, lovely experience. Melissa, the owner, was extremely nice and helpful by email and in person. House was even better than pictures - gorgeous and meticulously maintained. We only had four people so all got our own rooms! Deck has incredible views of the lake - perfect for sunning and reading even on the less sunny days we had. On the chillier day, we stayed close to home and enjoyed the cozy living room with gas fireplace and watched DVDs and ate homemade meals cooked in the well-appointed kitchen - every pot/pan/utensil you could ever need! Had a campfire the next night in the fire circle and roasted hot dogs and s'mores while looking up at a million stars. Everything you need in terms of grocery, restaurants, supplies, is nearby in Diamond Point or Lake George village. Took small side trips to Sabbath Day Point and Lake George state park, but mainly just enjoyed down time in a really beautiful setting. Hot water was excellent and plentiful. Would love to come back in summer to do some boating and swimming, but also really loved how quiet the neighborhood and lake were during off-season. Can't wait to come back!
