..... delightful. Perfect for a family reunion. Half a dozen kids under 5... through age 80; 20 adults, 10 kids. Three generations. Idyllic.

Great time had as a first vacation with our blended family! Four kids ages 2-10 had fun in the pool during the day and my partner and I were able to enjoy time with the kids as well as relax outside on the patio and enjoy the fire pit and stars at night. Perfect layout for six people as there was space for everyone to play and also to eat all together in the kitchen or on the patio by the grill. The grill was great for making our own pizza which the kids loved doing and we found a great park/playground down the road in Eldred where they had mini-golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard, funnelball (all free) and we had the park to ourselves! We found Peck's market where we were able to stock up on supplies we needed for all these hungry kids, so that was handy. There was also a country store for quick trips for milk and such only a few miles away. We would get up and eat breakfast while watching three woodchucks who would be sitting contently by the window each morning and the kids always found a toad or salamander to study before entering the pool. We also went to Holiday Mtn fun park one day which was great fun (only 30 mins away) - bumper boats, go-carts, kiddieland for the toddler, fun slides, it was a fabulous day for all of us! The kids had a great time roasting marshmallows by the fire and running around the property with their walkie talkies. I would also mention that there's a DVD available (since we didn't know we didn't bring any which would've been nice) and you should bring soap, shampoo, spices for cooking, oil, dishwasher detergent as none of that was on hand. Also, a flyswatter would be handy as there were flies buzzing around on the deck and sometimes in the kitchen. There is no internet so cell phone service didn't work (if you need to make a call like my partner did for a conference call, you have to drive around to get a connection) but texting did work. The kids used iPads when it rained and just played iPad games that didn't require internet connection so that was better than nothing. Overall, a successful vacation that the kids are still talking about and they have already asked when we can go again!
