                  "MANSION ON THE RIVER"

                  5 of 5
Family members stayed here for a 1000 Islands wedding and it was the most spectacular experience for everyone involved. The accommodations were perfect and my youngest niece referred to it as the "Mansion on the River." The master bedroom is truly romantic with it's historic bridal prints and lovely window bench overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence. Location is ideal for shopping/marinas etc.. and getting around Clayton. The owner is VERY friendly and made all of us feel like it truly belonged to us for the week.

                  FAMILY LOVED THIS!

                  5 of 5
My adult siblings and parents stayed at this home near Clayton several years ago (2011, if my memory serves me correctly, but VRBO wouldn't allow me to use that date). It's an easy boat ride from Clayton and nearly right across the channel from a boat ramp where my husband and I stored our jet skis' trailer for a small fee. We have been camping in the Thousand Islands for several decades and wanted to class it up after so long tenting. The view of the channel can't be beat, and there's plenty of dock space for boats, jet skis, etc. and still enough room to swim off the dock. It was great to be able to warm up by the fire in the evenings. The kitchen was well-stocked with enough pots/utensils for some gourmet cooking each day. The proprietors were wonderful, as well! The island is nice and quiet. My brother, father, and I went for a swim around the island, which was peaceful. Probably the BEST part of the house, though, is the fact that it's on an unsung pike fishing spot. We're all fishers, and the dwindling fishing over the past 15 years has gotten us down quite a bit. We searched high and low-- headed up to Boldt Castle, tried Mary's Island, etc.-- and ended up finding that the best place to catch some decent-sized northerns was right out the front of the house, out about 100 yards and drifting down with the current. Excellent!

                  WONDERFUL WEEKEND

                  5 of 5
We had a wonderful weekend in this house. We ended up hosting our cousins rehearsal dinner at the house. The backyard is huge. The kids were able to run around and have fun while everyone else just enjoyed a casual dinner and conversation catching up with family. Everyone that visited commented on how beautiful the home was, and were jealous of us that they had to go back to their hotels in Watertown. This was a great location for us because we had a wedding at Boldt Castle, and a reception in Watertown. It was like a big triangle staying here and was easy getting to everything. The house was so clean and fresh. My kids enjoyed getting their own rooms, and the views from some of the upstairs bedrooms were breathtaking. It is a very lovely home, and you won't regret having booked a stay here.
