The Grey Barn

5 of 5
The Grey Barn is everything it promises to be, and was the perfect place for our family to gather for our daughter's wedding at Cornell. The open floor plan more than accommodated the 30+ people we entertained for a pre-wedding barbeque. (It rained that evening, and everyone HAD to be inside.) The house features a kitchen that is fully stocked with cooking and dining utensils. There is a large dining area and comfortable furniture arranged in inviting conversation circles in the great room. The owners have furnished this house with many special touches to make visitors feel completely at home; live plants, interesting artwork, family board games, radio, TV, etc. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. Beautiful linens, comforters, pillows, and thick, soft towels are furnished. The owners are very nice and were available at all hours. The house was clean and beds were freshly made when we arrived. The landscaping is attractive and well maintained. The property is just a few minutes outside of Ithaca in a quiet, private rural area; about a 15 minute drive to The Commons downtown, or Cornell University campus. There are shopping malls, a movie theater complex and restaurants just minutes away. We would definitely rent this house again... and would stay longer next time!

Great stay!

4 of 5
We recently completed a short "mini-vacation" here and took a risk in booking at a location we had never visited before. Turns out the risk was well worth it. The cottage had essentially all the amenities we were looking for, and the weather was perfect, and allowed us to take full use of the breezy screened room. Additionally, the owners were very friendly and pointed us in the right direction as we had several questions for the area. The bedding/lighting/etc. were all in great condition. The only draw back was the water pressure for the shower was very low from time to time. We'll be recommending to others!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the stone cottage last Fall and we could not have been more pleased, both with the accomodations and with Nancy and Buzz, they are just great. Whatever questions we had, they were right there spot-on with answers and advice. We had never been to the area and they were full of great information and suggestions, both for walks and places to which we could drive. The cottage itself is an absolute marvel, we had never seen anything like it and it looks as if every little detail had been considered and made as fine as possible. And the bed and the bathtub are worth the price of admission alone. A great great place, highly recommended.
