Charming Cottage & Surroundings

5 of 5
Perfect retreat from New York City for me, my husband and our cat. Charming, historic exterior with a clean, modern interior. Beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was good (both are deal breakers when it comes to a nice rental). We loved spending time in the kitchen and on the porch. Great location surrounded by trees, but very close to Ithaca. Elena was excellent with communication and is very open to suggestions. We did not get a chance to use the outdoor features or go to the lake, but plan to when we return this fall.

Perfect vacation.

5 of 5
Main log cabin is beautifully decorated like a log cabin should be, moose head, lanterns, rustic furniture but sooo comfortable. Enormous table fit all 12 of us. Kitchen well stocked, coffee pot and kcup! Lots of outdoor seating, fire pit and grill. Guest house simpler but comfortable for our grown daughters, 17-20 (4). Owner is terrific and quick to respond. If have elderly or real young, the water is many steps down, across railroad tracks (a train came by) and, therefore, the return trip back to the house can be a bit strenuous. Nice canopied landing to sit under that overlooks the lake. We hiked many gorges, ate and laughed all together as a family being so close in proximity on one property. Private. Lovely, spacious and comfortable. Many Thanks. Great vacation.

Excellent Location for Law School Graduation

5 of 5
We stayed in this property within the first few weeks that it opened and loved it. Our daughter was in law school at Cornell and we spent a very nice Canadian Thanksgiving hiking in the very bright autumn woods. When it came time to book something to lodge our family for the graduation, we called KC about 10 months in advance to make sure we got "our house". It was perfect. Family from France joined us and could do bird watching from the hot tub and watch the deer wander through the garden in the early morning. The pool table was a good distraction while chefs prepared meals on the grill. Sitting around the firepit with a glass of New York wine was a nice close to each day. After the graduation, we were able to have a small reception prior to dinner reservations in Trumansburg. We have many happy memories of the graduation and this house provided an excellent setting.
