LOVELY FAMILY TIME

5 of 5
Our family had a great time at the farm. The house was everything the description said. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was equipped with every device we needed. We used the gas grill and ate by the pool on the fourth. Other nights we alternated between the formal dining and the sunroom. We swam and hiked and went into Woodstock. It was very relaxing and the air and beds made for great sleeping. The pool was a great gathering point at times during the day. My husband did yoga by the pool and swam every morning. The manager was helpful with all our questions and needs. My daughter suggested we return every year to this wonderful place. We plan to do just that.

HARMONY IN THE MOUNTAINS

5 of 5
Our recent stay at Whispering Pines was outstanding! Magic truly exists at this rustic yet sophisticated cabin home and glorious mountain view setting. Our time spent as a family at Whispering Pines was as enjoyable and memorable as was the hiking and the in-town cultural experiences. My teenage son and daughter are still raving about this family retreat. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay!

A LOVELY PLACE

4 of 5
My husband and I rented this lovely farmhouse for a long awaited couple's getaway. We found the place absolutely charming. very original, though recently updated. the kitchen was fully stocked, even found spices and condiments there to use, if desired. the living room area was great, well lit, two confy couches and a great fireplace with two stacks of firewood by the door ready to use. The master bedroom was very big but cozy, and the bed was very confortable. A couple of warnings though...If you are not familiar with original farmhouses, they are old,and some things such as sufficient hot water, can be a challenge. This was the case here...but with this in mind , you can still take a nice shower or bath, just don't expect to linger under the running water, or it will turn cold. The clawfoot tub is awesome for bathiing, but makes showering a bit awkward. The towels were very clean though a bit worn, and mismatched. Also, there was an overheating issue with the downstairs area, but it may have been resolved. We just shut off the thermostat and opened windows for a few hours. The only other warning comment is that the stairs to go up have no banister, and the wooden steps are a little uneven, they threw us off a bit when we first used them, especially with bare feet. By the next day we were going up like pros though. May not be too suitable for small children . There was a nice stream running along the forn of the house, next to the road, and a very nice back yard with a fire pit. We were not able to use the front patio . The area in general, was in between seasons, and the rainy weather was no help, so not as pretty as i imagined it, but the people we met were super friendly, and we had some fine meals. Jason, from Pine Hollow lodging, was incredibly helpful and readily available by email to answer any questions or help us out with anything, even though he was out of the country at the time we stayed. Felt like we were renting form a good friend! would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, quaint , romantic getaway.
