                    Charming, Dog-Friendly Couples Getaway

                    5 of 5
My boyfriend and I were looking for an affordable escape from Brooklyn somewhere near the Catskills when we came across the listing for Lazy Brook Farm. Having two dogs and a modest budget, this property seemed ideal. It was only upon arrival that we realized how little justice the pictures and description of the property do it! The house is beyond charming and has a modern cabin feel. It smells like pine, and at night you fall asleep to the very audible stream (perhaps the feature I loved most). The kitchen is well stocked and has most any utensil you would need to cook or grill--which we did every night after visiting the awesome farm stand a few miles away. (Go there. They have meat whose name they knew, wild-foraged mushrooms, eggs with feathers still on them, etc.) I mention this because of the home's close proximity to awesome food, beautiful swimming holes, and the trailhead to one of the best hikes in the Catskills. Lastly on the house, the fire pit area is fantastic and is a great place to lounge day or night (and WiFi works out there if you need). I find it very worth noting that Jason, the property manager, is a totally awesome guy. He was so helpful during our planning (traveling with two pit bulls can be tricky, and people can be very biased--but not Jason, who even brought his dog by in case they wanted to play). Also, he was always available by phone, gave us good tips as to hikes, restaurants and online resources, AND even came by the property one morning to drop off hiking poles for me to borrow when I realized I left mine at home! Nicest guy ever. We cannot wait to go back.

                    Harmony in the Mountains

                    5 of 5
Our recent stay at Whispering Pines was outstanding! Magic truly exists at this rustic yet sophisticated cabin home and glorious mountain view setting. Our time spent as a family at Whispering Pines was as enjoyable and memorable as was the hiking and the in-town cultural experiences. My teenage son and daughter are still raving about this family retreat. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay!

Great place, great history and the best Hot Tub!

                    5 of 5
We chose this place for the indoor hot tub and pool for our ski trip for the weekend, and there is only good thing to say about! The owners were great person, the house and the hot tub were ready when we arrived. Nothing is better than being able to jump into a hot tub after hours of driving. And, after skiing all day, hot tub is something you can look forward into. The best part was that the hot tub was adjacent to a pool, so you can always jump into it to cool down yourself whenever you feel too hot. The kitchen was complete, had all the cookwares and utensils and enough dishes and cups for the amount of people this house can carry. The dining area is furnished with very nice dining table and a window to make the perfect atmosphere. The beds were perfectly made with warm and comfortable blankets for a good night sleep. The bathrooms were clean and showers also works great. The living room area is furnished with comfortable couches and make a great area to hang around. Although we were too busy playing in the spa area and didn't have time to check them out, the house also has lots of antique books which may dazzle those book lovers. Overall, it was an extraordinary experience, I added this place to my favorite list and we would love to come back!! Thank you Evelyn and Ken!!
