We stayed at Buckley Farm for a week while enjoying the pleasures of upstate New York (Saratoga Springs, Lake George, etc). The house itself is large and fully equipped, with handsome period furniture as well as modern conveniences. There are two parlors, a spacious porch that overlooks the pasture, a large kitchen, and a full dining area. The four bedrooms upstairs are comfortable, large, and accommodating. The house was spotless, the caretaker Kenni was there to greet us, and the Farm's owner and staff were all cordial and helpful with details. The farm atmosphere--cows and calves, chickens, the friendly dogs--added to the pastoral feel. The cafe and meat market on site were a bonus, and provided morning eggs and bacon, sliced meats and cheeses for lunches, and dinners we cooked on the outdoor grill. The spaciousness allowed seven of us to be comfortable: intimate without feeling crowded. There is also an outdoor brick fireplace, and Kenni supplied us with wood for a nighttime circle there. All in all it was a wonderful gathering spot that provided all we needed and more.
