This apartment in Brooklyn might not be big, but it's big enough for two people who want to explore NYC and have a clean, comfortable and cosy place to come home to at night. It's very close to the subway station and in 3 stops/15 min you're downtown Manhattan. The neighborhood is safe and brownstones in the street are fantastic.
The place is nice & clean (apart from some dust due to construction work) and has abundance of character. The bathroom is spacious and clean and the shower is very good, the ceilings in the whole apartment are very high, the lighting is atmospheric, great shutters at the windows, good working AC-unit (not too loud either) and enough room to roam around.
The downsides (minor): the bed is quite small and not very comfortable, there is no kitchen (there is a small fridge, microwave, water cooker and coffee machine) but it would have been nice to have that a little bit more expanded: we brought our own blender to make a shake in the morning and it was all a bit make-do with space to cut up fruits etc.
Also, there is hardly any space to hang up clothes (a clothing rack with 3 or 4 pegs is not a lot) and in the bathroom there is no space to unpack your toiletries. All of these last issues make for the place to become rather messy even in 2 or 3 days.
Would we stay here again? DEF! This is an apartment that is well maintained (Linda is the nicest person to deal with!), that has character, great location and a fantastic price.
One last point: parking is free in the weekend but during the week apparently some system kicks in, where you have to park on one side of the street or the other - we didn't know (maybe this would be good to tell people upon check-in.....) and we got a $65 ticket. There goes our free parking :(
