We arrived late Monday morning. Walking up the street to her property from the nearby train station, my children often made reference to "how cool" the neighborhood looked. Joyce, the property owner, met us there upon arrival. I felt like we were coming home to stay with good friends! She was extremely hospitable and gave great attention to our level of satisfaction. We loved it! Outside was clean and looked just as you'd expect from a traditional brown stone community. The neighbors were always courteous and spoke as we passed by them. Inside was great, neat, comfortable and very clean. I loved the small backyard area. Great for coffee in the mornings. Having the kitchen and sitting area was very nice and saved us money when our family wanted late night snacks after our all-day adventures in New York City.
Our week at this property was for us was like staying home with friends who didn't bug ya, if you know what I mean. This property is quiet, clean and safe! Complete with comfortable sleeping spaces, flat screen TV's (with cable) free "real" wifi, (not those slow connections you'll find in most public spaces... this alone saves you $12.00 - $24.00 bucks a day in some hotels) full kitchen with full size refrigerator and strove, clean linens for the week with plenty of room to walk around the place.
AND Joyce was always a phone call away with questions about the city, airport transportation, neighborhood businesses. It was a great experience and the Carter family of Arizona highly recommend!
Finally, let's be honest.. New York, the city life there is great and exciting, but its NOT the cheapest vacation spot! Finding and selecting our vacation accommodations with Joyce was one of greatest vacation decisions we made right next to purchasing a 7 day pass for public transportation. If just makes financial sense! Secondly, staying outside the city provided us the opportunity to see much more of New York, much more culture, greater memories and experiences for our family. It also created opportunities for adventures they don't show in the city brochures. It was great!
If you're headed to the Big Apple and don't want Mr. Marriott to take huge bite out of your vacation budget, look up property number 3650544, ask for Joyce and IF you've got the vacation dates that match her availability... and you'll be good to go!
With the cash you save, see a few extra Broadway shows and have a great dinner in Little Italy!
