Great place to stay but it could be even better!

4 of 5
First let me say that this was a great place to stay. The location in Brooklyn is very convenient to many Brooklyn attractions such as the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens. It is also easy to get into Manhattan because the C line subway is literally right around the corner. There is a terrific food store also a half block away where we bought food and cooked all our dinners in the house because we had kids with us and it was so cold that weekend. There is also a wonderful coffee shop/cafe next to the food store. The kitchen and appliances all worked really well and the bathrooms were terrific with great water pressure and rain water shower heads. The only real negatives were the following: The first floor was COLD. Granted it was a unusually cold weekend, but the back door and front windows are not at all air tight. We could see light through the sides of the back door and obviously a lot of cold air was coming through. The upstairs was lovely and warm, but that's where the bedrooms are and not where we wanted to hang out. Luckily we brought extra blankets to wrap up in. The only other improvement the owners could make is to have more/better pillows for the beds. These are the two things keeping me from giving the house a 5 star rating.

A very nice and convenient place to stay

5 of 5
The place is very nice and clean and correspond to the description, luminous and sunny (2d floor). The brownstoned houses in the district are very nice with trees. It's very well located (10 minutes to the A line subway) especially for those who, like us, fly to JFK airport (on the A line). Then within 30 minutes you arrive anywhere in Manhattan. The owners are very nice and ready to help if necessary. We highly recommend it.

Excellent stay in Brooklyn!

4 of 5
My boyfriend and I stayed in Kay's apartment for about 3 weeks and we had a fantastic time. The apartment was huge, comfortable, clean and in a good location. We felt safe and the subway was very close by which made it easy to get to and from NYC. We didn't meet Kay but her son, Khalif was there to give us the key and he was very nice and helpful. Kay was very quick to respond via email and very easy going and good to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in an affordable, well maintained place in Brooklyn! Thank you Kay!
