Excellent, relaxing stay on Robinson Pond

5 of 5
We just spent my sister's birthday weekend at the cottage, and had the most relaxing escape from NYC we could imagine. The cottage itself is very spacious and beautifully designed, and had all of the amenities we needed for a long weekend getaway. The pond is wonderful and we had a great time exploring from the canoe. Peggy (the owner) was very gracious and helpful as we planned our visit, and we're already planning a trip back this summer!

Great time with our young family

5 of 5
We spent 3 days at Fran's cabin and had a wonderful time. It was just the right size for our family (2 kids, ages 5 and 2), and we loved the setting as well. Everything was as good as or better than described. We are city people and it was a real joy to watch our five year old have a blast playing out in the snow, as we watched from inside, which is not something we would ever be comfortable doing in the city. The location was great as well, we took a ski lesson at Catamount and went snow tubing at Wyndham. There's a convenient supermarket within driving distance, so we saved money on meals. It was a wonderful experience, a great Valentine's & President's Day, and a memory we'll cherish. Looking forward to coming back.

Still the best!

5 of 5
Our 2nd stay at Rene's house was another great experience. The house was as comfortable and well-equipped as always, and days of bright clear weather meant the views off the porch were even more striking than the first time. Once again, the location was extremely convenient for everything we wanted to visit --east, west, north or south. This trip we really noticed how quickly we were able to reach our assorted destinations -- whether hiking the Escarpment Trail at North/South Lakes; catching dinner and shopping in Hudson; strolling the Poets Walk outside of Rhinebeck; exploring West Stockbridge and Chatham; taking in the spectacular views at Olana and along rural roads; or enjoying lively evenings in the heart of Great Barrington. Being so close to the Taconic Parkway and Route 23 makes it easy to catch many of the region's sites...... but still come back to relax in a quiet country setting. For my wife and me, there is no better spot to stay in Columbia County. We again highly recommend both the house and Rene's kind hospitality.
