The Most Thoughtful Owner, Ever!

5 of 5
We rented the home for a Warrior Dash weekend in the Catskills for a group of women and the home could not have been more perfect. The house was absolutely lovely, just like we expected from the photos, but what is different about this location is the thought the owner puts in from a renter's perspective. Upon arrival, we called the owner and she lives nearby so she swung down to give us a walk through - including light switches you might not find, extra small appliances in the kitchen cabinets, even to show you where she keeps the games for your entertainment. There is also a detailed binder with information on anything you might need. If you have kids or it's a rainy day - there is plenty to do, even though we didn't need to make use of it. The house is immaculate and well-appointed. If you cook when you rent, this is one of the best rentals you'll run into. It's a newly refurbished kitchen, and is stocked with pretty much anything you'll need. Two coffee pots, a blender or two, whisks, measuring implements, a zester, bowls, even kitchen basics in the pantry you might have forgotten. In addition to be in charge of the rental, I also volunteered to be the weekend's cook and was super-pleased at how easy the house made that for me. We made great use of the fire pit - again, starters and logs at the ready made it easy to get it going. Hoping I'll be back - thanks, Jen!

True Paradise

5 of 5
Max...on behalf of Rebecca, little Miles and myself, we want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to experience the paradise that is your home. Rebecca and I are recently married and this was our first chance to really get away...we coined this trip our "minimoon", just a quick trip to get out of the city. But because of the extraordinary warmth and beauty of your home and property and its harmonious setting within the most awesome vision of nature, we truly felt transported to a place that was indeed beyond even the greatest of that nature! One other thing we'd like to share is that both Rebecca and I are professional musicians (Rebecca went to school for music theater and is a show tunes freak!). To be in a home that not only had external beauty but whose walls were filled with such a genuine appreciation for great music, really took it to the next level for us. Rebecca wailed show tune after show tune on your beautiful piano as I joined her with my guitar and voice in what we hope left our humble imprint on the clear musical air of your home. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you again for your gracious hospitality and bless you with good health and true happiness in all parts of your life. Looking forward to reaching out to you again soon With love, Rebecca and Mordechai (and miles:)

Great Getaway Part II

5 of 5
My husband and two children went back to this spot with our extended family and had a blast. All of the space makes it a great place for the kids to put all of their energy to work! As other reviews have mentioned, this place is not fancy at all, but it's wonderful for people looking for a different type of getaway. The house is totally unique with tons of history. We spend most of our time there hanging out in the yard, going for short hikes, playing ping pong and board games. We love being off the grid with no cell phone access because it actually forces us to relax!
