My friends and I enjoyed a fun and relaxing weekend at the farmhouse in Barryville. During the day, we trekked up the hill to the Minisink battlefield, where we explored the historic site and engaged in friendly battles of our own (with snowballs). In the evening, we crossed the bridge to Lackawaxen for some local music at the town inn. With two feet of snow on the lawn outside the house, we cozied up to warm drinks in front of the wooden stove in the living room. Such a charming home, with a rustic feel but plenty of amenities. The area is beautiful and historic, an excellent retreat from NYC, and just two hours away. I'd recommend the place to any small-medium sized group looking for a relaxing weekend getaway.
