                  A PERFECT WINTER FAMILY RETREAT!

                  5 of 5
I'll start by saying that our family has stayed at Camp Pair-o'Docks three times now. Two years in a row over the Christmas holidays and once just this past February. We have been a bit selfish in not writing a review because we kind of want to keep it our little secret. However we feel that we should really share it with others since it is such a beautiful spot. Since we have only experienced this cottage in the winter my review will be based on winter occupancy. I'm going to keep it pretty simple, this place is terrific! The location on Lake Paradox is lovely. The chalet is very impressive. We had 12 people staying at the house over the Christmas holidays and it has more than enough room to host a large group. It is immaculately kept, everything seems brand new including sheets, towels and kitchen items. There is no "roughing it" here, you definitely feel like you are at a Five Star resort. Because it was during the winter we enjoyed the large fireplace ( with unlimited wood available for use), the radiant floors that heat the house and the large picture windows that overlook the beautiful lake. We were lucky enough to skate on the lake since it had frozen over, a real treat for the grown-ups and the kids. The property is large and surrounded by a forested area which is great for walks. It's about a 10 minute drive to the small town of Schroon Lake where you find conveniences like the grocery store and liquor store. We also made the 45 minute drive to Lake Placid to enjoy the speed skating oval and lovely restaurants. As far as communications with the owner, it has only been a pleasure. He has been so accommodating to our requests-the most recent being when we called him only 2 days before we wanted to rent. He was able to prepare the house for us at the last minute, without sacrificing the high standards that we have been used to the past times we have visited. Overall we would love to come back year after year and enjoy it with our family. We would also like to experience it during the summer months and hope we can arrange that soon. We look forward to our next visit!

                  IDYLLIC SERENITY

                  5 of 5
Gorgeous and unique property with incredible views out every window, including a stunning one to the High Peaks. Watched the sunrise over the mountains with coffee every morning from the screened-in porch. Peaceful and quiet at the northern end of this lake, while the charming hamlet of Long Lake (with groceries, ice cream and excellent public beach) a mere 7 min. boat ride away. Kayak access superb, with interesting and varied near-by shoreline. Beach and dock very nice. Several intermediate mountain hikes within 20-30 minutes, and Lake Placid an hour's drive away. Home and surrounding grounds are spotless, every light-filled room comfortable and well-appointed, including excellent outdoor spaces in every direction. Great bathrooms and kitchen has all tools needed for easy meal preparation, with excellent storage for grocery stock, since you will not want to leave once settled in. Owners lovely and accomodating, meticulous care in property quite obvious. Very sad to leave, looking forward to a return.
