BEST SUMMER SO FAR

5 of 5
To begin with the house was huge and beautiful.... The owner Betty waited until 2.00 am as we got stuck in traffic.... She is so kind... She provided us free wifi, pool table, kitchen was good enough to cook for 15 people at a time , free washer and dryer which came in handy cuz we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights... The highlight was whole checking out she let us stay late until 8.00 pm without any charge... I would def come back here next summer and would recommend this to everybody who is looking for perfect summer experience...

WONDERFUL LAST-MINUTE GETAWAY

5 of 5
My husband and I booked a long weekend at this camp on Friends Lake only a couple of days before arrival. It was a perfect little weekend getaway for us and our three friends. It's cozy, but definitely has enough space for the recommended 5 people. The house had a great, large wood-burning stove that was more than adequate to warm the house. The lake was only a short walk from the property, as advertised, and came with a row boat with three seats. The only thing was that we weren't advised that the boat was shared with the other rental property owned by the same renter (next door), so it was really whoever got there first who could take out the boat. Lucky for us, the other family wasn't too interested in fishing, so we were about to use it when we wanted. The fishing was really good too. We caught a variety of different fish including smallmouth bass, sunfish, pike and perch. The actual rental experience with the owner was probably the simplest one I've ever experienced, which was nice. It was just very simple and drama-free without a ton of paperwork, rules, and instruction. I would definitely rent this property again, and would recommend it to a friend.

PRIVATE SLICE OF HEAVEN AT THE RED DOOR CABIN!!!

4 of 5
If you are looking to slow down and reconnect with your loved ones, this is the place. While the cabin is on the small side, our family of four never felt on top of each other. The cabin is delightfully furnished with new furniture and very comfortable beds (even the futon). We were greeted by Sharon(caretaker/manager) who acclimated us to the camp, nearby restaurants and answered every question we had, Sharon was so nice and helpful that we forged a new friendship! The owners left us a lovely welcome gift, all the fixings needed to make S'mores, YUM!!! The cabin was super clean and secluded, a short stroll brought you to the edge of the lake, where we would launch the canoes and Kayaks we rented from the owners for a small fee. We would spend hours on the lake, exploring the surrounding area and swimming, the water was crystal clear. At night we would build a fire and make S'mores, we recommend you bring lots of bug spray, as long as you spray yourself, the mosquitoes are tolerable. We ate at the Soda Fountain, Symeons and Adirondack Diner, all were very good. We had so much fun on the lake in our boats, we never left the compound except to eat! All in all, we have ranked this vacation as our best yet, which surprised us all. We really had a hard time leaving but we will be back!! The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because a sleeper sofa would have been better than the very nice couch in the sitting area and also some of the windows didn't open.
