We arrived for our Families spring Break Trip at the Home and were able to meet with Richard when we got there. It was so nice to have him meet us and show us the house, tell us the history, and explain some things to consider while we were in Santa Fe. We had our 4 boys ages 18-9 and the home provided everything wee needed in terms of space, beautiful views, and plenty to do with the Hot Tub, Sauna, and time to just relax. The home was very, very, clean and this is very important to us.
We at dinner most nights at an incredible restaurant right at the bottom of the hill from the house called HARRY'S ROADHOUSE. A Great Local place with tons of options and the BEST GLUTEN FREE choices I have ever seen. They make you feel like family when you eat there.
Richard recommended we hike Atalaya Mountain right outside the property and it was wonderful. We had difficulty finding it so we called Richard and he picked right up and told us where to go, very nice to have him if you needed him. We were glad we did the hike as we found a Heart Shaped Rock and created great memories with our boys.
Richard also recommended going to Madrid and are we glad we did. A very Artsy town with a restaurant called the HOLLAR...GREAT CHEESEBURGERS with BACON. If you are there you can walk all the galleries and you must visit SHUGARMANS CHOCOLATE.. ASK ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAW BERRIES!! the best and the people in Madrid are so friendly and welcoming.
Last but not least you have to visit ? EL SANTURIO de CHIMAYO which is much better than the Loretta Chapel which felt way too commercialized. This place is really beautiful and you can really learn a lot about Santa Fe History. Last but not least you must visit and Hike the TENT ROCKS. Our Family saved this for the last day and it left such an impression.
We stayed busy every day and relaxed every evening in the RASS Mandal. At night you can sit outside and see 60 miles over Santa Fe and it is so peaceful and relaxing. The house and the experience is one of our best families memories ever. Thank you Richard for making it so special.
