Livin Good ant Livin Hi

5 of 5
Our vacation goal, for my 50th birthday celebration, was to go ATV riding and stay in a secluded mountain cabin surrounded by nature. Livin Hi Lodge lived up to our expectations and provided delightful unexpected surprises every day. My wife and I found this a unique destination due to the richness of treasures hanging on the walls and the fact that we were able to use somebody’s precious home for a vacation filled with adventures, nature, peace, and quiet. On the walls are mounted animals, furs, photographs, and other home décor from places around the world that most will never dare to venture. Each time we sat back and relaxed we spotted something new and interesting. ATV riding begins from the driveway and extends onto the gravel county road to the nearest trail head which is two miles from the lodge. The trails are well marked and cared for. We ran out of time long before trails. Two of the days we rode 40 plus miles. The trails offer views and wildlife, but one need not go far to get the best views of the wildlife. Each morning nearly two dozen elk visited the lodge property and there was the occasional precious moment of watching the elk calves nursing. The resident cats Muffin and Oreo are a loving and social pair, but they are far from wild. Colorful birds of all kinds visited the feeders and potted flower garden on the deck. The master bed was more comfortable than our own, so naturally we slept better here. Contributing factors were definitely the peace and the quiet. We left the bedroom windows open every night, and consequently morning brought the gentle sound of elk chewing the grass below. It was that quiet. Thank you Judi and Jack for sharing your home.

The house is amazing! Beautiful, comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay in this house for a family reunion! The owners are terrific and gave us all info needed! The bedding was plentiful and clean, comfortable in fact the whole house clean and comfy! The kitchen well stocked with dishes, pots, coffee pot etc. we did take our own skillets to cook for large family and we needed them. The view is amazing and we really enjoyed the deck and fire pot on the deck with plenty of wood stacked for us! The parking is tricky and we played musical cars, due to too many cars! The neighbors were very nice and allowed us to use additional parking. Needed 4-wheel drive to park on bottom, but, had parking for cars right by the porch! We loved it and if we go back to Angel Fire will definitely stay here again!
