Red River Vacation

4 of 5
The property was very clean and accommodating. The young lady that takes care of the property was very helpful, even helping us get set up to watch the OU football game! She was delightful!! Thank you so much for sharing your property with us. The view was spectacular! We love Red River and vacation there at least once a year. This was our first time to stay in this particular place!

Consistently Amazing

5 of 5
I never leave this place without a feeling of wonder and perspective. The feeling of the mountains, the noises of the streams, the ease of the hikes fill this Native Texan's soul... especially in the middle of a hot Texas summer. Thank you, Hollywood, for being a short drive for us so that we can have a reprieve from the heat and the city. While we were at Hollywood, we took a short drive to The Great Sand Dunes State Park in Colorado - only a short 2 hours, and our kids had THE BEST time. Well worth a visit for those that are going to be here for several days (and probably in the non-snowing months). We also found the raspberry patch open in Mora, and we picked fresh raspberries (taste so much better than grocery berries). There was a Mill Festival on Labor Day in Mora, too, I noticed, and the green chilis were ready - roasting all over Taos and Mora. A bunch for $18? Yes, please. We spent most days hiking behind Hollywood, visiting the ski valley for nachos and margaritas, or taking a chair lift to the top of the mountain (Thursdays-Sundays only, I believe, but well worth a schedule change). Enjoy your getaway - we ALWAYS do!

A Great Cabin, A Flowing River, & a Gorgeous Cabin

4 of 5
Although located on the owners' property at the end of a city street very near shopping, we found the cabin to be quiet except for the wonderful sound of the nearby river and the pond just outside. The cabin was well-appointed and included a washer/dryer. The only drawback, and it was minor, is that the bathroom is located on the main floor & the bedroom is upstairs. A nightlight would have been nice; we just left a light on. The location was great for getting to the nearby attractions. We rafted the Animas River, visited the magnificent Mesa Verde National Park, and spent an afternoon at the horse races. This was the priciest but far and away the nicest of the places we stayed on our 6 week visit to the US southwest.
