Nice retreat

4 of 5
Cute & comfortable vacation house, nicely decorated, very well & thoughtfully equipped - the owners even stocked the refrigerator with not-so-easily perishables (i.e. condiments, peanut butter, etc.) and bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. Conveniently close to but yet nicely secluded from I-25, great cell reception, birds & bunnies outside were very enjoyable. Didn't meet owners in person but in speaking & emailing with them, they were very hospitable & accessible. Had a few difficulties with house's hardware / electrical devices - front storm door didn't close easily, the kitchen & front porch lights wouldn't turn off the last night of the stay, several light switches didn't work & there was a mystery-incident of finding the bathroom heater running in the middle of the night but off the next morning (knob was physically turned on & off respectively, thought my friend had done this but not so & neither of us sleepwalk). Enjoyed the sound system wired throughout the house, although unfortunately some of the speakers upstairs didn't work. Lighting was a bit dim at nighttime, area rug could have been vacuumed a bit better & there were some cobwebs / small spiders that immediately met their demise, but apart from these the ambiance & cleanliness was very good. Overall, excellent value for price. As a tip, if you like hiking, Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument is just southwest of Santa Fe & is absolutely amazing, highly recommended!
