Beautiful property with very accommodating owners

5 of 5
This is a wonderful property with everything you need for a great stay. It's close to the state forest and also has a view of the lake. The wood burning fireplace is a great feature as is the screened porch. The owners are great to work with. We have stayed here several times and plan to stay again!

An autumn week at Highland Lakes

5 of 5
My husband and I chose Michael's cottage based upon two criteria: it's proximity to NYC and the fact that it's pet friendly! We always try to book a property that is easy for our daughter to drive to from NYC and spend a long weekend with us. The Highland Lakes cottage worked perfectly. Thanks to the cleaning expert, Lisa, for having the home spotless upon our arrival. Thanks to Michael for excellent lines of communication throughout the entire booking process as well as once we arrived on site. Polly, the property manager, lives nearby and is there also if you happen to require assistance with anything. That being said, we found everything in and around the home to be exactly as described. The home's layout is nice. The beds are comfy. My husband especially enjoyed the large flatscreen t.v. We cooked meals indoors as well as grilling out on the gas grill. The fully fenced yard afforded us privacy while on the patio or around the firepit, as well as allowing us to have the dog enjoy the grass all week. If you require a washer/dryer they are available also. We visited a nearby state park, went to a few wineries and an apple orchard in the area. The grocery store is a very short drive away in Vernon. Paesanos pizza is excellent by the way! So thank you Michael for helping us have a wonderful stay and being available to answer any and all of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home.

Love the water!

5 of 5
This was a great spot for a reunion of four old high school buddies. You walk in the front door and are immediately struck by the view of this huge expanse of water -- the lake is really right there! We loved sitting outside and listening to the water lapping at the dock. Nice breeze, shade if you need it. It's simply a lovely location. The cottage has everything you would need, but even if it didn't it wouldn't matter. It's just a great place to be.
