Stunning, Even Better Than It Looks Online

5 of 5
This house was wonderful! We stayed for a three day weekend at the end of September 2014 and everything was great. The house itself is absolutely beautiful as is the property and the views of the lake. Everything you could possibly need or want is here – we did not leave other than one trip to the A&P! We stayed with our three young children and there was so much for them to do. The bunk bed room was great for them with lots of fun books, puzzles, etc. The boats and kayak were a lot of fun and there were life jackets in any size you could possibly need. The nearby small beach was lovely and we also enjoyed the beach and playground by the clubhouse just across the lake. We especially enjoyed the very well stocked gourmet kitchen. Any kind of pot, pan, baking item, or kitchen utensil you could possibly think of was there. That made it feel very home-like and easy to stay a long time! Katy, the owner, was very helpful and pleasant to deal with – we are thankful to her for sharing her beautiful home. We will definitely come back here!

A Great Escape!

5 of 5
This island getaway just an hour from New York City is like putting yourself inside a painting of a lush lake and charming Victorian-era white house with a huge wraparound porch. The house sits atop a beautiful hilltop with a panoramic view of the deep blue lake. Picture yourself with your morning coffee on this veranda while the lake shimmers in front of you. Or sunning on the dock below waiting to water-ski or swim. You'll never want to leave but if you need a break, restaurants and shopping are a quick boat ride across the lake. The house is meticulously clean and well-maintained; it is also charming and comfortable, with a fireplace in the living room and plenty of cozy bedrooms and sleeping spaces. A hiking trail that leads in a circle around the island is just steps from the back door. Halsey Island reminds you of the very private, stunning, rustic lakes and islands and deep woods near International Falls, Minnesota. But the drive to get there is only a matter of a few hours from many locations in the Northeast. I would recommend this exclusive vacation spot to all family and friends.
